16:35 Prairie Dancer

The 16l margin by which PRAIRIE DANCER beat Douglas DC at Ballinrobe was probably flattering, but Joseph O’Brien’s runner is hard to oppose all the same. He may be given a sterner test by Global Export, second to a useful type before his odds-on maiden win at Navan.

17:05 Favourite Moon

If Bill Durkan’s recruit FAVORITE MOON takes to hurdling at the first attempt he will be hard to beat in a maiden of this standard, since he boasts high-class handicap form on the Flat and likes soft ground. Rioga Choice was third to an in-form mare at Wexford in March and has the ability to win a summer maiden hurdle. Esperti and The Friday Man also have potential at this level.

17:35 Dark Spark

A very competitive affair but DARK SPARK has been sweetened up nicely by Michael Winters and probably still has a bit of scope in terms of his handicap mark. He can follow up his Kilbeggan victory. The Tide Turns and Anna Bunina have the class to be involved in the finish and the in-form Rich Belief is another for the shortlist.

18:10 Rebel Rose

Having been runner-up three times from four starts over hurdles, REBEL ROSE can put her experience to good use and get her turn. Elle Perfecta is interesting up in trip and could be a danger along with hurdling debutant Hot As Pepper. Secret She Keeps was a well-beaten third at Wexford on Friday.

18:40 Dicey Rylee

Last year’s winner Repeat That could make a bold bid to live up to his name while local hope For The Cause and Rossies Tara are others of interest. Preference, though, is for DICEY RYLEE who may have found 3m stretching him when fifth at Kilbeggan and can build on the promise shown there over this shorter trip.

19:10 Well Joey

The top three in the weights have the best recent form and look the ones to concentrate on. Though WELL JOEY is a long-standing maiden over hurdles, he is proven in soft ground, whereas Eaton Lady and Inforapenny aren’t, so he gets the nod. Glenmalure Lodge probably wants better ground too.

19:40 Hereditary Rule (NAP)

This looks competitive. Former course Flat winner April’s Joy could be the best of the Cromwell quartet but it could be another local trainer, John McConnell, who holds sway here courtesy of HEREDITARY RULE (nap). He is rated much lower over hurdles than fences and can score. Ballycastle Girl and Yenillik can run well.

20:10 Uncle Phil

Though he has two other smart winners to deal with here, including his stablemate High City Roller, UNCLE PHIL was impressive when winning at Kilbeggan and can follow up. Realistic Optimism was also impressive at Kilbeggan but this ground is a concern. Country Queen could improve enough to get involved.
