Down in class, COOLTUBRID EVA gets the vote to confirm Limerick form with Pallas Athene, who seems to have lost her way. Lady Bluebird, Lothbeg and Milanaway all have claims on the best of their form in an ordinary enough mares maiden.
14:30 – Jacenry
Not too much appeal here and perhaps an opportunity for the still unexposed JACENRY to follow up on last month’s C&D success where he finished clear with the runner-up. Perfect Pupil recorded a faster time than the selection when scoring on the same card and he looks like the chief danger. Gamigin is another previous winner here but this trip stretches him.
15:05 – Pipers Boreen
The proven stamina of PIPERS BOREEN can prove decisive and she is just 1lb higher than when running on second over 2m4f at Leopardstown last time. Dgalwaygallivantor is in fine form and improving but he is unproven over this far. Annaghbeg has run well here before and could do so again.
15:40 – A Great Buzz
The well-bred A GREAT BUZZ looks to be getting the hang of things now handicapping and she can improve on her third place at Cork last time. Doonbeg Don is respected on his handicap debut for his top yard. The improving Tankardstown Diva can also be involved.
16:15 – Now Is The Hour (NAP)
Grade 2-winning novice hurdle winner NOW IS THE HOUR (nap) should be able to go one better than on chasing debut at Cork. Duffle Coat has been runner-up in two beginners’ chases and can give the selection most to do. Miss Tempo can improve upon her Gowran chasing debut.
16:50 – Don’t Talk
With recent hurdles run under his belt, it could pay to take a chance on DON’T TALK off a 15lb lower chase mark on only his third start over fences. Tangental is another racing off a much more favourable chase mark who didn’t quite stay 3m at Navan so he merits plenty of respect back in trip. Recent Limerick winner He Fitz In and the expensive-to-follow Womalko are others to consider, with Hunt Museum a potential improver on his handicap debut.
17:25 – The Abbey
A C&D winner who ran a cracker on his return at Leopardstown, THE ABBEY can improve enough from that run to score. Old Soul, Routine Excellence and Atacanter can give him a race though.
