13:30 – Fame And Fun

Fame And Fun had failed to convince with his jumping on his first couple of starts over fences but he put in a much more assured display over this course and distance a couple of weeks ago, justifying support on his return from five months off. He was ultimately all out to hold on by half a length but is still lightly raced over fences so a 4 lb rise in the weights may not be beyond him, particularly as most of that is offset by Freddie Gingell’s 3 lb claim.

14:05 – Kick Up A Storm

Kick Up A Storm offered some encouragement when a distant third in a staying novice on his hurdling debut at Worcester in October but he failed to build on that in two subsequent starts over shorter trips. He has been given plenty of time since that latest outing in November, though, and it would be little surprise were he to prove a different proposition on his return now going handicapping back over a longer trip. The application of cheekpieces for the first time could also bring about some improvement.

14:40 – Davidoc

Irish point winner Davidoc has made a relatively encouraging start over hurdles and looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark under Rules. He finished in the frame on his first couple of starts over hurdles and then wasn’t disgraced in fifth when upped in trip at Warwick in January. He’s been given a wind operation since last seen and could be tough to peg back down in trip here. He gets the vote over Sanitiser who caught the eye when fourth in a handicap hurdle at Kempton when last seen in November.

15:15 – Transmission

Transmission shaped well on his first couple of starts for Neil Mulholland (previously with Colm Murphy) and he confirmed that promise when scoring over course and distance in January, doing well to recover from a bad mistake that resulted in his rider having to make a brilliant recovery to retain the partnership. He’s been beaten on both starts since but has been running in competitive events and he should appreciate this drop in class.

15:50 – Crystal Moon

Crystal Moon shaped as if he’d be better for the run when a distant third at Doncaster on his reappearance in November and he duly took a big step forward at Hereford in January, beating a subsequent winner with a bit in hand. A 12 lb rise in the weights asks more of him, but he’s had only four starts over fences, winning two of them, so he remains capable of better in this sphere. He’s also unexposed as a stayer having been campaigned over shorter trips as a hurdler.

16:25 – Highway One O Five

Highway One O Five has shown only modest form over hurdles but he produced one of his better efforts over jumps when sixth at Market Rasen a couple of weeks ago and he should relish this step up in trip. He finished placed in a couple of bumpers last season, running to a fair level, and he could still have more to offer over hurdles when there’s less emphasis on speed.

17:00 – Crazierthandaisy

Crazierthandaisy made a promising start to her career when beaten only a neck and half a length in third in a Huntingdon bumper in January and she ought to do better with that experience under her belt. She seemed to be really getting the hang of things late on, rallying inside the final 100 yards, and she could prove a tough nut to crack if making the anticipated progress.
