With the yard in such hot form, MASTERCLASS has to be high on many lists slotting in at the top of the handicap on his first try around here. He normally comes from a good way back, but in a small nine-runner contest with his starting position down towards the inside, he should get a perfect toe into the contest, just up behind the leaders.
17:30 Wolverhampton – Moreginplease
MOREGINPLEASE has been running of late, as if she is keeping a little bit back for herself, so the team reaches for the headgear for the first time, blinkers could well get her to focus. In a race, not loaded with natural speed, bar Carabella, she may well get the front end on her own. 64 looks within range to break her duck.
18:15 Kempton – Volkan Bey
VOLKAN BEY hasn’t pulled up any trees so far, hence she is starting off with a very lowly-looking mark of 55. Considering her pedigree and sales price of €150,000, she has been very much like her sire Calyx, in running a touch free early in her races. A patient approach by her trainer can be rewarded as she returns after 152 days away from the track and this looks a winnable contest.
18:30 Wolverhampton – Ocean Ridge
OCEAN RIDGE has only had two tries for this team and arguably should’ve got his head in front at Kempton just three days ago.
He was set a mammoth task as the front-runner Private Bryan held a massive advantage turning into the straight. However, he made up ground hand-over-fist to be beaten and unlucky half-length. The yard has proven itself with other people’s cast-offs and this can be another advertisement of their talents.

19:15 Kempton – Duty Of Care (each-way)
All of DUTY OF CARE’s three victories on a synthetic surface have come at this venue. Although continuously climbing up the handicap, he doesn’t quite look as if he’s reached his ceiling as yet. Admittedly his run in the London Stayers Final was disappointing, but we can put a line through that. After a slow start, he never saw any daylight and was left alone. He’s better than that, and at double digit odds, rates a solid each-way option.
20:15 Kempton – Dalrymple
DALRYMPLE showed very little on her first three starts for another trainer and then really caught the eye over the mile at Kempton when staying on strongly from the back of the pack for the new team.
She looked to have a good opportunity at Lingfield, but after getting squeezed early on, never went with any fluency whatsoever and is better than that. Returning to this venue and stepping up in distance for the first time, should suit her well on pedigree.
