Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of the four best performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
DELL’ ARCA is useful handicap hurdler who won this contest in 2017 and last year. David Pipe’s gelding wears headgear and a tongue tie here, and has had breathing operation recently. He could be fitter in this too, thanks to a blow out in conditionals event at Aintree last month. He also won at Haydock in May and acts on good to firm and heavy going.
Irish point winner VALLERES may be on handicap debut here, but Alan King’s charge brings potential to this chase. The lightly raced gelding was successful twice from five outings over hurdles last season, picking up wins at Fontwell and Wetherby. If his jumping holds up to examination, he will have a huge say on debut in this sphere. He does look to be the chasing type though.
CHESTERVILLE has since switched yards from Gordon Elliott to Rebecca Menzies and is back up in trip here. He was a good second place at Tramore last month in a small field novice, and he can have a big say in this contest.
POWER OF STATES just loves this venue and comes into this race as three-time course and distance winner. Hugo Palmer’s entrant has scored twice in six appearances this year and has picked up six victories in 23 starts on the Flat.
