Horse Racing: Punter lives the dream by scoring over £6K off Saturday Lucky 15

This was a nice touch!

Newmarket July

One of our crafty punters was in a hurry last Saturday, taking our bean counters down in the space of just an hour and 45 minutes to score £6,147 off just a 40p Lucky 15.

The bumper bet all came from races at Newmarket on Cambridgeshire day as our winner, who hails from Wolverhampton, managed to correctly call the result of four races on the spin to land the loot.

The wager somehow beat off odds of 1,024/1 so let’s tell you how it came in:

The opening selection on the betslip came in the Cheveley Park Stakes at 14:25, where our victor picked ALCOHOL FREE to get off to the perfect start.

Andrew Balding’s filly kept on gamely from the challenge of favourite Miss Amulet by half a length and our winner was already eyeing the next race one the card.

The Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at 15:00 was always going to be a competitive affair and our customer was looking to the Clive Cox-trained SUPREMACY to get the job done.

The colt had to be shaken up by jockey Adam Kirby two furlongs out, but he got up well to hold off the much-fancied Lucky Vega in the end.

Next on the hitlist was the big one, and our plucky punter made the brave call of selecting 40/1 outsider MAJESTIC DAWN to score in the Cambridgeshire Handicap at 15:35.

There was no need to worry though, as Paul Hanagan steered the colt to an impressive four-and-three-quarter lengths win. It was a huge victory for his trainers Paul and Oliver Cole, and the outcome left our winner only requiring one more winner to land a huge payday for his £6 stake.

Our winner might have been hoping for some divine intervention to help bring the wonderful wager home, but MYSTERY ANGEL was the answer to all those prayers in the Nursery Handicap at 16:10.

George Boughey’s filly kept on well inside the final furlong to best The Flying Ginger and our victor must have been in heaven as she went past the winning post.

That result sent £6,147 flying into our winner’s account faster than VAR gives a penalty for a dodgy handball decision.

All we can do is tip our caps to this beautiful bet.
