GAELIC SECRET has a useful pedigree and shaped with plenty of promise on debut when third at Catterick earlier this month. He started at odds of 40/1 that day, so he was clearly expected to come on for the experience, and his greenness was evident once he came under pressure, wandering early in the straight but staying on well all the same. That form stands out in this field, and with improvement forthcoming, he looks the one to beat.

Marginal preference in a tight-knit sprint is for the veteran mare ECONOMIC CRISIS, who is on a roll having won her last two starts from a falling mark, and is taken to complete a quick-fire hat-trick under a mere 4 lb penalty for her commanding course and distance win seven days ago. Ventura Flame is handily weighted and sure to have a big say again, along with recent Redcar scorer Montalvan.
14:00 Archeology
ARCHAEOLOGY didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when sixth at Thirsk last time, still going well when not getting the clearest runs two furlongs out, so is taken to belatedly confirm reappearance promise and get back to winning ways. Granite City Doc has already scored twice here this summer so is feared most, although Le Chiffre is another with winning form at the track who can make his presence felt in an open handicap.
14:30 Ayr Poet
AYR POET took another step forward to notch a third win in his last four outings here eight days ago, landing some nice bets in the process, and his limit may not yet have been reached, so he gets the nod to go in again from a 5 lb higher mark with Danny Tudhope booked. Smeaton returned to form at Pontefract 11 days ago and drops in grade now, so is well respected, while Talk Now and Moxy Mares complete the shortlist.
15:00 Donnachies Girl
Slight preference is for DONNACHIES GIRL, who can boast a course and distance win and signalled she’s ready to go close again when a good third back here last week. She races from the same mark here, just 3 lb above her last winning mark, and looks the bet in an open handicap. Golden Sandbanks figures on a handy mark now so can make his presence felt along with course winner Sioux Frontier.
15:30 Zim Baby
A case can be made for all of these but the most persuasive one is for ZIM BABY who suffered a very poor run when a strong-finishing third at Pontefract last time and can get her compensation here off the same mark. Mina Velour has more to offer for Julie Camacho so she heads the dangers with Never In Paris feared too on the back of her excellent third in the Ayr Bronze Cup.
16:00 Letmestopyouthere
LETMESTOPYOUTHERE is on a lengthy losing run, but he ran well after six months off at Lingfield in August, despite making his effort earlier than ideal, so could well be the answer here from a handicap mark he can be competitive from. Red Bravo and Hard Solution head the dangers.
