17:30 – Reyaadah Star
Maritime Lady sets the standard on her three efforts to date and she should go well again, but it’s not a daunting one and she wouldn’t be sure to confirm latest Wolverhampton running with REYAADAH STAR who was effectively making her debut. Charlie Johnston’s filly is bred to appreciate the longer trip and is taken to reverse the form. A market check is advised regarding the newcomer Haydarieh and the returning Kingmont.
18:00 – Lady Flora
A few of these have already shown ability in their only starts such as Sunfall, but it’s concerning that the form of her debut fourth at Newcastle last November hasn’t worked out well. On the other hand, the form of the race in which LADY FLORA finished third at Newmarket the same month has worked out rather better, so this half-sister to the stable’s Racing Post Trophy winner Elm Park is taken to make a successful return. Nancy Rose was only just beaten on her Newbury debut last summer and is another to consider with the extra furlong likely to be of benefit.
18:30 – Wadacre Grace (NAP)
Four of the seven runners are making their handicap debuts and market support for any of them would be significant. Ciara Pearl has done well so far in her short career and, with further progress a real possibility, she is respected despite the 5lb penalty and drop back in trip. However, they are all taking on a tough and consistent mare in WADACRE GRACE (nap) and she may know a bit too much for them at a track she seems to like (2-4).
19:00 – Oliver Show
A trappy little contest and with no obvious front-runner it could become tactical. There is a question mark against Aurora Dawn back on the AW but she may have improved generally, while four-time C&D winner Sayifyouwill is worth a second look from 1lb below her last winning mark. Eight-time course winner Soar Above can never be written off here, but OLIVER SHOW is given a chance to show that his latest poor Newcastle effort was a blip. He had looked progressive when winning there the time before.
19:30 – Hello Cotai
The market may prove the best indication of what is expected from the handicap newcomers, many of whom are returning from lengthy absences. Magic Fluke makes the shortlist back over this C&D despite his highish draw, but preference is for HELLO COTAI who caught the eye when fourth of seven on his stable debut at Lingfield ten days ago. This more galloping track may suit him even better.
20:00 – Imperial Guard
This can go to handicap debutant IMPERIAL GUARD who made a successful return in a C&D novice last month. He remains open to further improvement. Ziggy’s Dream has to prove herself on Polytrack and may be vulnerable to an improver, but she still has to be respected under her penalty following her smooth success at Wolverhampton on Saturday.
20:30 – Profit And Loss
McCauley’s Tavern has only won once, but that was over C&D in January and he is back off the same mark. He makes the shortlist down in grade, as does Vitalline if able to establish an uncontested lead from his low draw. However, the vote goes to PROFIT AND LOSS who ran well to finish third on stable debut after an absence over C&D last month and may well come on for it.
