17:30 Yarmouth – Kuwait City
Kuwait City already has some winning course and distance form under his belt and he takes a significant drop down in grade for his return to action. Admittedly, we are guessing slightly as to his fitness, however, there is no getting away from the fact that he is dangerously well handicapped. This could easily be the springboard for another solid sprint campaign.
18:10 Wolverhampton – Local Hero
Local Hero put up a demolition job on his racecourse debut at Kempton and immediately took a significant climb up the ladder into Listed company at Doncaster but he quite clearly got stuck in the mud. He does have to give away a little bit of weight but he has unlimited potential to climb much higher from where he is at the moment. Being back on the all-weather track is a positive too.
18:30 Yarmouth – Viridian
Viridian wasn’t cheap at the sales at 80,000 guineas and he starts off handicapping in a very low-looking mark of 62, having also been gelded for his return to action. He lost a shoe last time out and stayed on adequately into fourth place over this trip and a return to the turf can see him step up.
19:00 Yarmouth – Blue Collar Lad
Blue Collar Lad was a disappointing favourite last time at Wolverhampton. He got away slowly and he was rushed up to take a handy position and unfortunately the petrol gauge ran empty later on. If given a clean break under conditions that should suit, he can regain the winning thread and post his sixth victory in all and fourth on the turf.
19:10 Wolverhampton – Key To Cotai
Key To Cotai proved flexible from a trip perspective when winning over the minimum yet being fully effective over both six and seven furlongs. Returning to action from 196 days away over the sprint 6f trip looks to suit and she’s been handed an ideal inside starting position for her to go forward. She can hopefully get right in behind the leaders and pounce late on.
20:10 Wolverhampton – Moon Over The Sea
Moon Over The Sea has had a profitable winter campaign over a variety of trips and his form at this venue is decent. He was so unlucky last time as he was held up off a very slow gallop and was caught out as the leaders went for home. Despite that he stayed on well to finish a close up third. Rossa Ryan, the winter champion, takes over in the saddle which is always a positive.
