So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

Newmarket-July-course

15:25 – Newmarket – Majestic – Robin Goodfellow

This race looks red-hot, with all manner of interesting contenders. It’s hard to narrow them down but MAJESTIC flourished when he encountered a big field over course and distance (C&D) in the Cambridgeshire last September and his reappearance fourth in the Lincoln suggested that he is the type to make further progress.

Second on the list is Turntable, who’s the old man of the party but brings a superb course record and had something in hand when he scored twice under apprentice Kaiya Fraser last autumn. His new stable is in fine form. Jimi Hendrix and Empirestateofmind are well handicapped judged on their latest starts, while Titian was another one to further his cause last time out.

16:25 – Uttoxeter – Coconut Splash – Morning Star

COCONUT SPLASH is 0-10 over fences but largely consistent in four seconds and four thirds. Appeared to be going pretty well when brought down at last month’s Aintree festival; unexposed over this sort of trip and his current mark is workable; good each-way price.

16:55 – Thirsk – Diamond Haze – Racing Post

Having raced just once on turf before, Victoria Falls may yet do better on the surface, while Saisons D’Or is considered from a 3lb lower mark than when last successful on turf. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a better effort from the unexposed Anieres Girl, but DIAMOND HAZE makes plenty of appeal having dropped 1lb lower than when winning over C&D just under a year ago. He should be all the better for last month’s Musselburgh reappearance.

17:55 – Doncaster – Matloob – The Punt

120,000gns Dark Angel colt and the first foal of 2018 Royal Ascot 2yo winner Shang Shang Shang; MATLOOB is a very interesting debutant in this line-up.
