Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the picks.
15:10 Ascot – Red Riding Hood (The Scotsman, Glendale)
RED RIDING HOOD is a half-sister to winners Monday and Leinster House. Dam is a 7f-1m 2yo winner (including Group 1), sister to 7f-1m2f Group 1 winner Misty For Me, dam of Group 1 winners US Navy Flag and Roly Poly. Very classy pedigree and intriguing to see what the market makes of her.
15:38 Haydock – Eeh Bah Gum (Daily Record, Garry Owen)
EEH BAH GUM ended a long barren spell at Musselburgh in June and ran very well on his next two starts. Finished behind a few of today’s rivals at York in July but he was back in the groove at Musselburgh four weeks ago, forging clear to beat his three rivals in good style.
16:20 Ascot – Rebel Territory (Ipswich Star, Matt Polley)
After two wins on good ground (also won on soft) REBEL TERRITORY perhaps found good to firm too quick when sixth at Glorious Goodwood, although he didn’t run at all badly in that hot handicap. Could still be on the upgrade after ten runs.
17:25 Ascot – Majestic Fighter (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
MAJESTIC FIGHTER’s sole win on AW as 2yo but has good turf handicap form as well, being only just denied by a useful one at Doncaster in May and failing narrowly against a hardened older rival when dropped to 7f at Sandown in August. Solid chance.
