13:00 – Frog and Toad
Mashaan has been in fine form on AW since joining Alice Haynes but his turf mark has risen simultaneously and there’s a major doubt about today’s return to grass. This could go to the lightly raced 4yo FROG AND TOAD, who reappeared with a good second of 14 at Redcar recently. Second choice is Merry Secret, who was sixth in that same Redcar race and should appreciate today’s better ground. As If By Chance is another to consider.

13:40 – Vindobala
Tamaska could progress again this year and he is respected, while Lockdown Lass and Royal Prospect also come into the reckoning. Saisons D’Or and VINDOBALA both come here in good order though and the latter might find this straight track more to her liking than Catterick last time.
14:15 – Yukon Mission
Having done well at the end of last season, YUKON MISSION reappeared with a close third of 14 at Thirsk recently and can return to winning ways today. Sarah’s Verse has a fine record under Laura Pearson and is second choice, ahead of Soller Bay who is unexposed over 6f.
14:50 – Rizg
This could be between the three previous winners, who are all 1-1 and look to have bright futures. RIZG did it cosily on his sole 2yo start at Yarmouth and is preferred to Lethal Nymph, who impressed at Wolverhampton recently. Pontefract scorer Chiellini could also play a leading role.

15:25 – Al Barez
A small field but still an interesting contest. Bay Breeze bolted up in a lesser race on his return last week, a performance predicted by the betting, and he has to be on the shortlist under a penalty. Harb and Mojomaker still have potential but AL BAREZ looked promising at two and he can defy what looks a sporting opening mark.
16:00 – Equality
A race that revolves around recent Windsor winner EQUALITY. Charles Hills’s 4yo looked very smart on his return and some of his efforts last year marked him down as a sprinter to follow. He can defy his penalty at the main expense of Rebel At Dawn.

16:30 – Mount Olympus
The lightly raced MOUNT OLYMPUS could have untapped potential over this sort of trip and he earns the vote ahead of the consistent Yagood, who could build on his solid reappearance run. Tendentious has raced only four times and is another interesting candidate.
17:05 – War Horse (nap)
There are some possible improvers in the line-up but WAR HORSE (nap) was a good second over C&D on last month’s handicap debut and the form of that race was boosted when the winner Grand Alliance went close in this week’s Blue Riband Trial at Epsom. Dark Mystery is bred to appreciate this longer trip on his handicap debut and he could be the chief threat, while Adjuvant and Madame Ambassador could also improve for the step up in distance.
