We’ve enjoyed a blistering four days of racing but, sadly, the curtain has come down on the 2022 Cheltenham Festival. As the old saying goes, all good things come to an end but the brilliant news is we get to do it all again in 12 months time!

But when is the 2023 Cheltenham Festival? Well, get the diary at the ready (or the calendar on your iPhone) and mark off Tuesday, March 14 to Friday, March 17 for next year’s Olympics of horse racing. You can be first in line to hear about ticket details by signing up at the Jockey Club website.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

The prospect of extending the Cheltenham Festival to a five-day fiesta has been mooted but it looks like next year’s meeting will continue with the current four-day format.

Paddy’s traders are the MVPs behind the scenes cooking up prices for the 2023 Cheltenham Festival already with antepost betting markets for the Arkle Chase, Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Cheltenham Gold Cup already priced up on the Paddy Power website.

Constitution Hill and Sir Gerhard are the early favourites for the Arkle Chase 2023 after scintillating displays in the Supreme and Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle respectively. Alternatively, Nicky Henderson’s charge could be given a crack at dual Champion Hurdle winner Honeysuckle next year after smashing the time record for the Supreme.

Energumene made it 1-1 in his personal battle with Shishkin after the latter pulled up in the Champion Chase. It meant Willie Mullins finally saddled a Champion Chase winner and his superstar two-miler is the antepost favourite for next year’s renewal.

Allaho is the hot favourite to win the Ryanair Chase for a third year in a row as is Flooring Porter in the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle.

Galopin Des Champs, meanwhile, may have fallen at the final fence with Turners Novices’ Chase glory at his mercy but Paddy’s traders saw enough to install Willie Mullins’ charge as the antepost favourite for the 2023 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

While the National Hunt season may be drawing to a close we’ve still got another month of quality action to come with the Grand National and Punchestown Festival to come before the Flat takes over. You can be sure we’ll continue to bring you exclusive tipping columns from the likes of Ruby Walsh and Mick Fitzgerald here on Paddy Power News.
