14:20 Cork – Cash Back
Cash Back looks to be a better hurdler than he was a chaser and will be ridden by 7lb claimer Kieran Callaghan who had a winner at Clonmel last week. It wouldn’t surprise me if it took a bit of pegging back over this two-mile trip around this track. It’s interesting that Rachael Blackmore ride Irascible and is at Cork rather than Fairyhouse. Cash Back’s my best bet this weekend.

14:55 Cork – Aione
Speaking of Rachael Blackmore, she ride Aione in this 2m 4f Beginners Chase. His form has been steadily improving and he might be able to get off the mark over fences.
15:10 Fairyhouse – Braganza (each way)
It’s a decent sized field with 16 declared to run. Dinoblue was disappointing at the Cheltenham Festival as she raced well too keenly in the Mares’ Novices Hurdle on just her second start. The winner Love Envoi rocks up here and deserves to be among the market leaders after a battling display where she stayed on very well to win.
Brandy Love will be ridden by Paul Townend, but he’ll need to keep her straight at her hurdles as she jumped violently left when beaten here when an odds-on favourite. Of the others, Impervious might have a chance as would Braganza, who I fancy each-way. Night and Day looks a nice mare and one to keep an eye on in the future.
15:30 Cork – Melon
Melon has a lot of weight to concede but should be too good for the opposition now he drops down to Grade 3 class having won a Grade 2 at Gowran Park two starts back.

16:20 Fairyhouse – Mt Leinster
Danny Mullins rides Mt Leinster as Paul Townend rides Galopin Des Champs in the next race. His last run was a good run and definitely has a chance in an open-enough contest.
16:55 Fairyhouse – Galopin Des Champs
The feature race is the Gold Cup Novice Chase where Galopin Des Champs looks to atone for a last fence fall at Cheltenham. I’m not knocking him for falling after the last with the race won and it was just unlucky that he landed on his toe rather than the flat of his foot, so he just buckled on landing. Experience should help him overcome that type of error. Blue Sari needs heavy ground to show his best so Master McShee could be the most likely to chase home the odds-on favourite Galopin Des Champs.

17:25 Fairyhouse – Lecky Watson
There’s no form to go on here but Willie Mullins is throwing four darts at the board. Dr Eggman is ridden by Pat Taaffe who claims 7lb and is owned by Rich Ricci. He goes well at home. Icare Desbois will have Jody Townend aboard and I’m not surprised that Patrick has chosen to ride Lecky Watson as he does things really well at home. He probably would have been my pick too. I’m not too familiar with Loughglynn who may have come into training a little later.
