WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

While Freewheelin Dylan stunned racegoers when scoring at 150/1 in last year’s renewal, it’s always worth having a gander at the top of the betting market when picking your horse.

We’ve had a look at Paddy Power’s latest odds for the Irish Grand National 2022 and picked out the five horses vying for favouritism.

Gaillard Du Mesnil

They say three is the magic number and Willie Mullins’ Gaillard Du Mesnil certainly has a soft spot for the digit after placing third in all four of his runs over fences in his novice chase season to date including last time out behind L’Homme Presse in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase.

Farclas

A last-minute scratching from the Aintree Grand National indicates that Fairyhouse is the target for Farclas, who was second to Run Wild Fred in the Troytown when last appearing on track.

 Max Flamingo

Trained by sheep farmer Francis Casey, Max Flamingo has been targeted at the race since November last year after chasing home Gabynako and Fury Road in a Beginners Chase.

Full Time Score

Henry de Bromhead’s second-season chaser has been lightly campaigned with a pipe opener in the Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase over Christmas before scoring at Fairyhouse in February.

Run Wild Fred

The Troytown winner and National Hunt Chase second fell at the eighth fence in the Aintree equivalent nine days before so he’s likely to be fresh for a crack at the 3m5f trip.
