Kerry v Tyrone

Saturday, 3:45pm

Tyrone To Win By 1-3 Points
Tyrone have been a real bogey team for Kerry over the years and they’ve already beaten them in the League in Omagh this year when they really needed the points. This could be the game of the weekend.

Tyrone have proven themselves as being able to raise their game when playing Kerry. Their record is second to none, barring one qualifier defeat down in Killarney.

This is going to be really tight, we could probably say that about all four games this weekend in fairness, but I’d fancy Tyrone. At the current odds, they’re a good price. Kerry come into the game somewhat untested. For some teams it might be a slight issue that they’re playing for the third week in-a-row. But, for these top Division 1 teams, conditioning shouldn’t be an issue.

The performance of the two Canavans (Darragh and Ruairí) in Tyrone’s forward line has been huge. They were really buzzing last weekend against Donegal and they’re going to cause huge problems for the Kerry defence. I’m backing Tyrone to Win by 1-3 Points.

Darragh Canavan First Goalscorer

A goal is going to come from the Tyrone side as there’s any number of threats. You have both of the Canavans of course, Darren McCurry and Mattie Donnelly as well, but I’d go with Darragh Canavan to score first. He’s been shooting the lights out over the last number of weeks and he’s going to be a huge handful for Kerry on Saturday.

Armagh v Monaghan

Saturday, 6pm
TV: GAA Go

Armagh To Win By 1-3 Points
There has to be a few question marks concerning Armagh, they haven’t been able to get the big wins in the big games over the last number of years, like against Galway last year and the Ulster Final this year. But, they will have enough on Saturday and having not played last week will help them immensely.

Rian O’Neill being back will be a huge help to them too.

Monaghan weren’t overly impressive in beating Kildare last Saturday and if this game were Kildare v Armagh, Armagh would be a much shorter price. For me, I’d go with Armagh just about, winning by 1-3 points.

Andrew Murnin First Goalscorer
The size of the Croke Park pitch doesn’t usually allow for many goals at this level but I think we’ll see one – probably later rather than sooner. I’d come down on the Armagh side to get one. It’d be Andrew Murnin for me.
