19:00 Luton v Rotherham: Draw

The writing seemed to be on the wall for Rotherham’s survival hopes at 4pm on Saturday. As the Saturday kick-offs resumed for the second half, Rotherham trailed at home to Blackburn, while Derby County took an early second-half lead at Swansea.

The Millers would be relegated had results stayed the same, but a late equaliser from Lewis Wing, coupled with a quickfire turnaround at the Liberty Stadium means Rotherham’s survival is in their own hands. The Millers will be safe if they win their two remaining games against Luton and Cardiff.

Unfortunately for them, winning games has been a major problem in recent weeks and their poor winning record is one of the main reasons that they find themselves in the relegation zone with two games to play.

Rotherham have taken just five points from their last 10 games and have not won in their last six. Their last-gasp draw against Blackburn snapped a five-game losing streak and they have failed to score in four successive away games, collecting just one solitary point in that spell.

They may receive a boost from their stay of execution last weekend, but recent form suggests that they may fail to pick up an all-important win on Tuesday – even if they are taking on a Luton side with nothing to play for. However, The Hatters are not playing like a team that has nothing to play for, winning five of their last nine and collecting 17 points. It’s hard to see Rotherham emerging with three points here.

19:00 Blackpool v Doncaster: Blackpool to win

Blackpool need just a point to make certain of a play-off place and they will hope to do it in style against an out-of-form Doncaster on Tuesday night. The Tangerines appeared to be enduring an end-of-season wobble following successive 1-0 defeats to Rochdale and Shrewsbury, but they have steadied the ship with back-to-back away victories in their last two games.

Doncaster, on the other hand, have endured a dismal 2021 that has seen them plummet down the League One table into mid-table obscurity. They did manage to save face with an away victory over Rochdale last time out, but it doesn’t disguise the fact that they had won just once in their previous 13 games – effectively ruling themselves out of the play-off picture. Blackpool can compound their misery on Tuesday night.

19:00 Shrewsbury v Ipswich: Draw

It is doubtful whether Shrewsbury or Ipswich are bothered about the inconvenience of a mid-week fixture when neither club have anything to play for. Both clubs have been safe from relegation for weeks, while they have had no chance of pushing for the play-offs and it has shown in their results. Ipswich won their first game in seven on Saturday with a win over Swindon, scoring their first goal in over 11 hours of football in the process. Four of their previous six games finished scoreless.

Shrewsbury, meanwhile, have lost five of their last six games and are lucky that their dip in form didn’t come a few weeks earlier. Both sides are mentally on their summer holidays and neither will be going hell for leather on Tuesday night. It could be another drab draw for Ipswich.

19:00 Charlton v Lincoln: Charlton to win

Both Charlton and Lincoln suffered disappointing and damaging results at the weekend that could potentially have fatal consequences for their seasons.

Lincoln, who were still very much in the race for automatic promotion, threw away a three-goal lead against promotion rivals Peterborough in 30 disastrous second-half minutes at the weekend to ensure Peterborough’s promotion to the Championship. For context, a win on Saturday coupled with a win on Tuesday night in their game-in-hand would have left Lincoln two points off Peterborough going into the final day.

Charlton, on the other hand, dropped two points against Accrington Stanley to give up crucial ground in the race for the play-offs, although they rescued a point late on. They simply have to win on Tuesday if they are to have any hope of overhauling Oxford and Portsmouth on the final day to clinch a place in the play-offs.

Their desperate need for a victory might just see them over the line on Tuesday against a Lincoln outfit with nothing left to play for who will still be reeling from Saturday’s result.
