17:30 – Pianoforte

Not Real must have been hugely impressive at the breeze-ups to fetch 500,000euros last May and she’s one to note in the betting on her debut. General Assembly (second choice) and Catherine Parr can go well but PIANOFORTE‘s best effort at two came on AW and he might be the answer on his return to action.

18:00 Profitman

Handicap debutantes Katie G and Sky Blue Dreams offer potential and in-form pair Hatadora and Moe’s Legacy (second choice) bring solid credentials. However, PROFITMAN arrives on the up and is taken to resume winning ways quickly on the back of his excellent recent Wolverhampton third.

18:30 Golden Myrrh

In a very open novice it could pay to side with Ralph Beckett’s Frankel filly GOLDEN MYRRH who did well to come in sixth from a wide draw over C&D last month and has a much more favourable berth this time. Southwell scorer Sir Les Patterson is feared most, although the likes of Formidable Force, Rockymountainway, Alhather and Smart Hero all offer potential and need considering too.

19:00 Sighter (NAP)

She may need further before long but SIGHTER (NAP) got the job done over this trip on February’s Chelmsford handicap debut and has a kindly looking 3lb rise, with one 5lb claimer replacing another. Sunblock has had excuses on both starts since a winning handicap bow of her own, and is preferred of the remainder.

19:30 Grenham Bay

Many A Star appreciated the drop to Class 5 company at Southwell last week and he can go well under a penalty, while the progressive Big R (second choice) has a rise in the weights to overcome but did it well last time and the second has franked that form. GRENHAM BAY has been running well over 6f since cheekpieces were added and he’s taken to gain a third C&D success.

20:00 Caprelo

Free Speech looks the most interesting of those with handicap experience but Sir Galahad (second choice) and CAPRELO appeal as major improvers now upped in trip and switched to handicap level. Hughie Morrison knows Caprelo’s family well and the dam has already produced eight winners, five of whom have recorded an RPR of 90 or higher. The selection should take a big step forward this year.

20:30 Baroque Buoy

Last-time-out winners Eccentric and Bitcoin Profit are still feasibly weighted but they are up against a host of potential improvers. Midnight Drive (second choice) is one such contender, while Simple Endeavour will find this easier than last time and Beach Point shouldn’t be underestimated. BAROQUE BUOY shaped as if capable of a fair bit better on his second outing and he should appreciate the step up to 1m on this handicap debut.
