Mister X for Stuart Williams looks a bit overpriced here for this class 5 handicap. He’s a course and distance winner of just 1lb lower and has been relatively consistent so far in his short career. Winning 3 from 5 starts on todays AW surface and 3 from 5 over todays trip, he also has a 50% strike rate in todays grade so everything to suit today and not many excuses. Speed ratings are decent and with the open nature of this race and the price he represents some tidy value.

15:20 Lingfield – Swiss Ace

1.5 Points each way

Swiss Ace looks like he could have a very good opportunity in this. He’s back down in a class 4 again after some efforts in class 2 and 3 but his record at this level is very good. Tended to do all his best work this time of year so it could just be that this is when he’s physically at his best. Speed ratings wise he’s right up there and has the plum draw in stall 1 to get a nice position. The yard’s in good form and should be there or thereabouts.

15:35 Newcastle – Gaelic Geordie

3 Points to Win

Gaelic Geordie, although under a penalty, looks like he could still be well in here and it’s a great opportunity to rack up a quick double. Looked like he won with plenty in hand last time out at Wetherby and the softer conditions seems to really suit as opposed to the faster ground he encountered at Newbury. Difficult to see this one being far away and rates as the one to beat.
