16:10 – Hubrisko

The form of the race in which HUBRISKO was second here at the festival has been shown in an attractive light by third-placed Rexem. He should now prove too strong for The Last Mardi, whose Killarney third was prefaced by a good run on the Flat at this venue. The most interesting of the others are bumper winner Royal Romeo and four-time Flat scorer Fennor Cross.

16:40 – Big Island

Any further rain could help BIG ISLAND, a course winner on the Flat on heavy last October and relatively unexposed over hurdles. Montel Glory and Just Jacob are dual winners in recent months and capable of getting into the money again. Despite lacking a recent outing Bonnie Kellie and Indie Belle could be given a chance on last season’s best form. Ben Vrackie was very smart on the Flat and might just be capable of a resurgence.

17:15 – The Shunter

The conditions of the race favour THE SHUNTER, kept ticking over with a run on the Flat since contesting the Galway Plate. He meets former Champion Hurdle third and recent Kilbeggan winner Darver Star on 12lb better than handicap terms. The Very Man has a place chance following a good run on the Flat. Shewearsitwell, who flopped in the Galway Hurdle, would get into the money if restored to her best.

17:45 – Presenting Point

Like quite a few here, PRESENTING POINT has yet to taste victory over hurdles, but his Punchestown second and third off a higher mark over fences in the interim, augurs well. He stays well, is in-form, and handles all kinds of ground conditions. Roped In and Townhill Penny will be popular, and rightly so, but at a bigger price Humps And Bumps has the ability to surprise and could be the each-way value.

18:15 – Borntobeyours

Crimson Chief comes here on the back of a win over fences and with very few here likely to take him on for the early lead, he can be expected to make a bold bid to go in again. BORNTOBEYOURS caught the eye at Bellewstown where she left the impression she has more left in the locker, and whilst the ground is an unknown, she appeals as a nice each-way play. In what looks like an open affair Sweet Will, Appian Way and Dalileo are others to bear in mind.

18:45 – Hallowed Star

An interesting little contest with four of the seven runners holding strong enough claims, two of whom won over hurdles here at the festival, namely Sit Down Lucy and HALLOWED STAR. Of the pair, the latter, seemingly at home on varying ground conditions, appeals most, and he looked to be going places when bolting in off 128 in said contest, and he should take to this game. The Coral Cup eighth Indigo Breeze and Watch House Cross have the potential to rise to a fair level and could threaten.

19:15 – It Could Be You

If IT COULD BE YOU has ironed out some issues with his jumping, he could be one to have on your side here. He has had only four starts over fences, one in handicap grade which bagged a solid third after a bad mistake, and whilst disappointing on his reappearance over hurdles here at the festival, this could be more his cup of tea. Malina Girl has hit the crossbar on her last three starts and holds a favourite’s chance, whilst Cluan Dara, Goodnightgodbless and Stormey are others to bear in mind.

19:45 – Coastguard Lady

Willie Mullins already has 20 bumper wins on the board this season at a 38% strike rate. The chances are that he has earmarked a useful sort for this event, and COASTGUARD LADY may prove equal to the task. C’Est Rien, third behind an odds-on stablemate of the selection here at the festival, makes more appeal than two others with placed form, Russellsbelle and Google De L’Ecu. Newcomer Gaillimh A Run is noteworthy since her dam was a Listed bumper winner.
