13:30 – Girl Magic
This looks a potential match between the two previous winners in the field, GIRL MAGIC and Sparkling Red, with preference for the former, who looked potentially useful at Ayr last time. She was well backed and took a big step forward, well in command at the line, and she can follow up under a penalty before having her sights raised further.
14:00 – Kanzino
A trappy seller but the vote goes to KANZINO, who presumably hasn’t been the easiest to train, but made an encouraging return from 11 months off at Catterick two weeks ago. He raced from off the pace that day and wasn’t given an overly hard time, likely to come forward from that now, and he remains less exposed than most he’ll meet at this level. Brazilian Beach has lost her way in handicaps of late but could easily have a say on the pick of her form.

14:35 – Castan
CASTAN showed improved form to open his account on handicap debut at Musselburgh last month but for one reason or another he wasn’t in the same form at Carlisle 11 days ago. However, he looks well weighted based on his earlier form which has worked out well, and is well worth another chance. Kodi Dancer was a place behind the selection at Carlisle and may provide the chief threat.
15:10 – Innse Gall
A winner at Carlisle on his penultimate start, INNSE GALL again ran well when third back at that venue eight days ago, likely to have been seen in an even better light granted a stronger gallop to aim at. This ease back in class will help and he remains with scope from this sort of mark. That said, Good Regal arrives on a roll and is feared in her bid to make it three wins from her last four starts, with Berry Edge also considered.

15:40 – Bossipop
BOSSIPOP is hardly one for maximum faith but this track has often brought out the best of him and he might be worth chancing having dropped to a mark in the 60s for the first time since making a winning handicap debut over course and distanc way back in 2016. Mark’s Choice is another with excellent track form and rates an obvious threat, while it’s likely only a matter of time before Majeski Man strikes for Paul Midgley.
16:10 – Arranmore
ARRANMORE hasn’t won for over a year, which tempers enthusiasm, but he ran his best race for a while when fifth over a mile at Pontefract four weeks ago and, back at a venue where he has gone well previously, he could be up to defying his reduced mark (now 4 lb lower than his last winning mark). Yoshimi, who scored at Leicester recently, and three-year-old Red Kite are others to consider.
16:45 – Purple Reign
PURPLE REIGN remains relatively lightly raced and is holding his form well since opening his account at Chepstow in June. He arguably should have won at Ffos Las last time, faring by far the best of those who were held up, and he is one to be interested in from this sort of mark, especially now stepping up in trip. Infiniti, who also arrives in form, looks the likeliest danger.
