16:30 – Beret Rouge

This race concerns only a handful at most. Hollymount holds the ability to land a race such as this but hasn’t been entirely convincing and a tentative nod instead goes to BERET ROUGE, one of the stable’s lesser lights but a potential improver for the application of headgear for the first time. Any market support for Another Bonnie could be significant, while Kilbree Warrior and Bubbles In May have chances on their best form.

17:00 – Speed Gang

An extremely open affair in which Showbusiness is likely to have a big say. However, SPEED GANG might just be open to a little more improvement immediately and he is taken to build on his Limerick rules bow. Moulane West is a live contender but lacks a recent run, while Figurehead and Mahon’s Glory are entitled to be on the premises if bouncing back to their very best form.

17:35 – The Dara Man (nap)

Having roared back to form over fences at Limerick last time, C&D winner THE DARA MAN (nap) can convert that resurgence back to hurdles. Noble Birth put up his best run when second at Navan last time. This better ground will suit and he can go well. Varna Gold has run well here before, while classy performers Zoffanien and Wouldn’t You Agree can’t be discounted.

18:10 – Brook Falls

All of these have questions of some sort to answer. A chance is taken on course winner BROOKS FALLS to notch another hurdle win, having run well on chasing debut last time. Humble Glory is classy and could win if at her best but the yard is hit and miss now. Forgetthesurprise shouldn’t be far away.

18:40 – Flashthelights

If first reserve Strong Roots was to get a run then she would have a major chance. Failing that, FLASHTHELIGHTS put up an impressive performance at Naas last time and the 6lb rise should be surmountable. Kilcarry View was behind the selection last time but can come on plenty for that. Glenabo Bridge would prefer a bit further and softer ground.

19:10 – Mrs Grimley

Having come forward massively from her poor debut when a close fourth at Thurles last time, MRS GRIMLEY can improve enough to score today. Devils Cape seems the Elliott number one but the yard isn’t in top form. Many of the newcomers are interesting, notably Clandara, Florance and Make The Plan.

19:40 – The Last Mardi

Cases can be made for several of these but THE LAST MARDI was well clear of the remainder when touched off by a Mullins-trained rival on debut at Thurles and gets the vote to go one better. What Path is capable of better than he showed first time out when plenty went wrong while Harry Des Ongrais and Kiki Badger also merit respect.
