13:20 – SOUTHEAST ROSE
A few of these are weighted to go well, not least Desaray Girl on her November form, although things haven’t gone to plan since. In an open race SOUTHEAST ROSE does at least have two wins under her belt and is genuine so is taken to exploit a modest mark. Next best is Atlantic Dancer, although Irish point winner Racks Cross would be interesting if supported in the market on her handicap debut.

13:55 – THE FLIER BEGLEY
There are some question marks about THE FLIER BEGLEY in a new headgear combination and another left-handed track after sometimes jumping right on his hurdle debut at Navan but there was still plenty to like about the way he tackled the job against promising rivals. Winning Irish pointers Gaillimh A Stor and Your Own Story are worth a market check on their British debuts but the main danger may be Sporty Jim who has run respectably in bumpers and looks sure to be suited by the step up in trip now hurdling.
14:30 – KNOCKNAMONA
Caboy should run his race but the two to make most appeal are KNOCKNAMONA and If Not For Dylan. The former returned to form from out of the blue at Newcastle, and did it in good style too, while If Not For Dylan went kindly for William Shanahan when successful over C&D and may yet do better back at this trip.
15:05 – ROYAL ARCADE
A well-contested event featuring three last-time-out winners may go to the lightly raced ROYAL ARCADE, who can build on his close second here in December. Topweight Seemorelights, successful over C&D last month, is a big danger, with the reliable Gallic Geordie and the doughty veteran Ardera Cross others to consider.
15:40 – STOLEN MONEY
A fascinating contest which features a number of progressive individuals. Ned Tanner has very few miles on the clock and he posted a career-best performance when winning at Kelso, but this is probably best left to the hat-trick-seeking pair of Green Vault and STOLEN MONEY. With rain in the forecast a narrow preference is for the Donald Whillans-trained runner who posted an authoritative display in similar conditions at Haydock over Christmas.
16:15 – TO THE LIMIT
Stamina reservations (over 3m) for an otherwise intriguing Destiny Is All serves to switch the focus to TO THE LIMIT (nap). Stuart Coltherd’s runner has gradually found his feet over fences since the turn of the year, and ran a solid race in defeat at Carlisle last week. Respect should also be afforded to the recent Leicester scorer Just Don’t Know.20:00 – Dembe
16:50 – TIME FOR HOLLIE
In winning bravely from the front on heavy ground at Uttoxeter on New Years Eve, Kim Bailey’s TIME FOR HOLLIE achieved a fairly respectable RPR. She should relish the forecast conditions and despite carrying the incurred penalty, she’s taken to prevail. Archie Watson’s Nifty Getaway could step forward from Ludlow, while both El Poppochapo and One Cool Lady also merit respect.
