1.50pm, Down Royal: Jason The Militant (Betting Without Abacadabras)
My selection in this is going to be Without Abacadabras because I think JASON THE MILITANT can chase him home. Abracadabras is going to take a little bit of beating and is obviously going to be the short-priced favourite but Jason The Militant is fit having had a run on the flat – a race which he won.
He only really has two to beat in the Without market here. Sixshooter wants further to be seen at his best, and Rachel Blackmore rides Aspire Tower who is having his first run of the season. I think Jason The Militant can chase home Abacadabra so hopefully we’ll get a decent enough price in the Without market.
2.25pm, Down Royal: Napoleon Blue (NAP)
NAPOLEON BLUE is top weight in this race but he’s a stone lower over hurdles than he is over fences, and although he did disappoint the last time we saw him over hurdles he has some good form to his name in the past and this doesn’t look a strong contest. We’re offering an extra place here but I’m not sure you’ll need it as I think this horse will go very close.
8.00pm, Dundalk: Tarlette
TARLETTE is the one I like for Shane Crawley. She was having her first run off a mini-break two weeks ago at Dundalk and things didn’t really fall right on that occasion. They went very slow up front and she had to switch wide into the straight to make her challenge. There looks to be more pace on in this race so she should be able to get involved in the finish around a track that she’s won twice at in the past so she clearly acts around the surface.
