Wise Judgement made a highly promising start to her career when runner-up on debut at Beverley last month, knowing her job but shaping well in defeat, only beaten by an improver who is now two from two.

Mark Johnston’s filly led early on, travelling well, and was only caught in the final furlong by the winner, who is destined for a higher grade. Only John Gosden has saddled more second-time-out winners than Johnston this season, and his charge should make a bold bid to go one better with improvement on the cards.

A dual bumper winner last season, Urban Artist has improved with each of her three starts on the level this term. She opened her account on the Flat at the second time of asking at Windsor in July, showing improved form to score in good style, and she followed that up with a ready success on her handicap debut at Goodwood last time.

Urban Artists took advantage of a lenient opening mark to run out a four-length winner, having the run of the race but proving game and powering clear of an in-form rival. She has gone up 8 lb for that win but remains open to improvement and is taken to continue her progress.

There isn’t an awful lot separating the main protagonists in this race, Champers Elysees is one of the most improved performers in Ireland this season, while decisive Irish 1000 Guineas winner Peaceful is yet to run a bad race this season, but it is Terebellum who sets the standard and could be worth chancing judged on the current prices.

Winner of the Dahlia Stakes on her reappearance, Terebellum has been beaten a total of half a length in her two subsequent outings, coming up a head short in the Queen Anne before narrowly failing to justify favouritism in the Falmouth last time. She was likely unsuited by having to make her own running on the latter occasion, but she could have a strong pace to aim at here, and is expected to be bang there.
