Peter Crouch gave us his birds-eye view of Southampton v Man United. Cos he's so tall, innit.

Saturday 12:30pm: Southampton v Man United
TV: BT Sport 1

Beating Liverpool will be a huge boost for Man United, there’s no doubt about that.

But their problem has often been in their attitude – not running as much, not trying as hard as your opponents – and against Liverpool, that really wouldn’t be a problem

If you can’t get up for United v Liverpool then you’ll never get up for anything.

Liverpool are also a team that leaves two defenders back, so when you’ve got the pace that some of United’s forwards have, it’s well set up for them to win in some ways.

In a way, United reverted to type against Liverpool, as they played like they often did under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Erik Ten Hag probably looked through the previous performances against big teams and saw them play more on the break

They’re more likely to do better against a team who’ll come at them rather than a team who might sit back more.

A game like Southampton might test them more, as strange as it sounds.

They’ll hope they’ve turned the corner, and Casemiro is a great signing, but it remains to be seen if there’s more to it. The next five-to-ten games will tell a lot.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is a good coach too and, even though there was some talk before the season that he could be in trouble, they’ve had a decent start.

I thought they could struggle without Armando Broja, who has gone back to Chelsea, but Che Adams is a top player in my view and it’ll be important to keep a hold of him the way he’s started scoring. I know a few clubs are keen to get him before the deadline.

His four goals in the League and cup games this week will only give him more confidence too.

I could see Southampton looking for reinforcements up-front before the window closes but Adams can lead the line and could cause some problems for United on Saturday.

The Saints’ comeback win against Leicester showed they are able to grind out results and they’ll make it tough for United, but you would still expect the visitors to build on the momentum from that Liverpool win all the same.

It might be cagey and they’ll have to ride their luck at times, but they’ll have a little bit of the buzz back from Monday’s game and I’d see United getting the job done.

This game obviously won’t be as intense as the Liverpool one though. You wouldn’t expect it to be all that spicy despite the introduction of Casemiro to United’s midfield.

Cards should be at a premium in a scrappy affair.

Marcus Rashford looked quite dangerous again versus Liverpool and produced a very nice finish for his goal.

He’s a confidence player, and just nabbing one could lead to a few more, so I’d fancy him to build on the performance and get another here.
