Sandown 13:15 – Hedge Fund (each-way)
We start with a three-year-old handicap and while it’s hard to know who has improved the most through the Winter, it’s likely that whoever has matured the best from two to three, will win this.
I like HEDGE FUND who has had a run at Bath when second on seasonal debut last time to Adaay in Devon.
He’s drawn in stall two so he could jump out and run and with the fitness advantage, looks a fair bet to get in the money at least.
Sandown 13:50 – Cogitate
There’s been an early gamble on Hand of God with Ryan Moore booked by Jack Channon but with Rocking Tree a non-runner now, that leaves us with just the seven going to post and kills a decent each-way angle. I’ll chance COGITATE with Tom Marquand booked for Charlie Hills and again, he’s had a run when second at Southwell on seasonal debut. He was thought enough of last season to run in the Group Three Acomb Stakes and while that didn’t work out, he’s back in a handicap now.
Perth 14:40 – Stoke The Fire
Patrick Mullins rides Stoke The Fire for Willie and he’ll likely be very short in the betting as this doesn’t look a quality contest. He should manage to get his head back in front.
Sandown 15:35 – Arabian Crown
We see an early Epsom Derby horse in ARABIAN CROWN, who is low enough in the market for the Colts’ Classic in June already. Charlie Appleby’s team usually have theirs ready for the big days and this is a decent 1m 2f Group Three Trial. Arabian Crown signed off with victory in the 1m 2f Zetland Stakes Aidan O’Brien sends Portland over but you’d think that Arabian Crown could have too much for him. They’re the joint top-rated in the race.
