Football tips: Liverpool’s Jota to put Atalanta to the sword in our 18/1 Same Game Multi

Liverpool and Atalanta felt a lot bigger three weeks ago before the pummelling dished out in Italy, didn’t it? That was a winning Same Game Multi, by the way.

Roberto Firmino hasn’t been great this year, Mohamed Salah has missed games and Sadio Mane is a touch more inconsistent than he was this time in 2019.

But the arrival of Diogo Jota – who absolutely none of us questioned at any stage; don’t even dream of searching through my tweets – has inspired them to win games when the front three haven’t been perfect.

A win here sees them qualify from the group, so here’s a Same Game Multi to send them on their way.

For the price, I feel like I must.

They’re comfortably ahead of Atalanta in terms of an XI, certainly as a squad – and now they’ve got form on their side too as Atalanta haven’t won either of their games in Serie A since hosting Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

Salah returned to training on Monday too, which means he’s in line to play, and that should be the X-factor required to cast aside any doubts they may have.

Can you honestly not back a side, at home, who beat the same side 5-0 away from home, when they’re this price? I don’t think so.

Diogo Jota to have 3 or More Shots

Look, it’s not about where you end up, it’s about the journey they say. And the M6 is as pleasant a conquest as any you wish to voyage out on.

Have I sold it to you, yet? Look, either way, this fella is in as good form as any player in the Premier League and given his positioning off the ball has slotted perfectly into Liverpool’s preferred build-up play, he’s now as central to their attacking threat than anyone.

Imagine saying that 12 months ago.

Under 3.5 Goals

Atalanta have scored one goal in their last three games. One. And you won’t find an under 3.5 goal tally be this close to evens again for a while, so we should snatch it while we can.

Their 1-1 draw with Inter may read as encouraging, but since the break, they’ve drawn a blank against Spezia, and that should cause concern. I simply can’t see them scoring, makeshift back four or not for Liverpool.
