Millwall vs Middlesbrough, 3pm
After a debut win at Stoke, Neil Warnock’s impact at Middlesbrough has faded rapidly. Boro have lost two very winnable games against Hull City and QPR and seem to have already lost their new manager bounce. They now face an uphill task to remain in the division.
They simply need to win on Wednesday night, but Millwall will give them no quarter. Millwall still have an outside chance of making the top six, and have looked solid since losing at home to Derby in the first game back after lockdown.
They are almost always difficult to break down and boast one of the best defensive records in the division, something that Middlesbrough – the lowest scoring side in the league – will struggle against.
Gary Rowett’s side should win on Wednesday, keeping their slim play-off hopes alive and casting Neil Warnock further into relegation mire in the process.
Verdict: Millwall to win.
West Brom vs Derby, 5pm
Derby may have rescued a late point and spared themselves from the embarrassment of losing home and away to Nottingham Forest, but their play-off hopes took a bit of a dent nonetheless. West Brom, for their part, have a challenging run-in and can ill afford to drop any points on Wednesday night with Brentford breathing down their necks.
Derby will not be a pushover, and need a win to keep in touch with Cardiff City in sixth place. The draw against Forest aside, Derby’s form since the restart has been faultless and they have continued their surge up the Championship table.

They face an absolutely daunting run-in, however, and take on four of the current top six in their next four games.
With a mammoth game against Cardiff on the horizon, Derby will look to ensure that they are still in the hunt for that coveted spot. This one will be a nervous affair for both sides, and Derby’s better form in recent weeks should make sure that they come away with a point at the very least.
Verdict: Draw
Bristol City vs Hull, 6pm
Bristol City have endured an absolutely dismal run of results of late, losing all four games since competitive football resumed and going a total of eight games without a win in the Championship.
The shocking run has cost Lee Johnson his job, but Bristol will fancy their chances against relegation-threatened Hull. The visitors have picked up a fairly unremarkable four points in four games since the restart, but that is still double the amount of points they picked up in the 11 games prior to lockdown.
In total, they have picked up six points from a possible 45 and their Championship survival hangs by a thread. They picked up a huge win against fellow strugglers Middlesbrough and looked competitive in their most recent outing against second-placed West Brom.
The home side will have to work hard to end their win-less streak and it’s difficult to see where the motivation will come from, given that they’ve shot themselves in the foot in the race for the play-offs and have five meaningless games ahead of them.
Verdict: Hull and draw
