Football tips: Our 6/1 Same Game Multi to get it done for Newcastle v Brighton on Sunday

Tuck into this trio that we fancy.

Newcastle to win

Newcastle, despite all of the uncertainty surrounding their ownership this summer, looked absolutely excellent in their opening day win over West Ham at the London Stadium. Steve Bruce deserves an enormous amount of credit for his performance at the club, and they now look fully capable of launching an assault on the top 10 this season.

Their summer signings all seem to be excellent bits of business and they have a very good opportunity to prolong the newfound feelgood factor around the club by making it six points out of six on Sunday afternoon.

Brighton, however, will be no pushovers. The Seagulls were quite unfortunate to come away with nothing against Chelsea on Monday, conceding three goals from unlikely sources in the 3-1 defeat. They also showed plenty of promise in their four-goal demolition of Portsmouth in the League Cup on Thursday night.

Graham Potter, like Steve Bruce, deserves praise for the work he has done with The Seagulls and they will make life incredibly difficult for Newcastle.  Steve Bruce’s side should have just about enough though.

Callum Wilson to score anytime

If Callum Wilson can stay fit, Newcastle have a serious player on their hands.

The former Bournemouth striker has always looked deadly in front of goal and his poacher’s finish in the opening day win at West Ham was evidence of that.

Wilson looks sharp and will surely be keen to mark his home league debut with a goal.

He is the exact type of player that can thrive under Steve Bruce and, if he can renew his partnership with Ryan Fraser, he will be a very dangerous prospect for all Premier League defences.

Over 2.5 goals

Neither side were particularly lethal in front of goal last season, both averaging just one goal a game, but both look a different proposition this year.

Brighton created plenty in their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea and have since ran riot against Portsmouth, while The Magpies have bolstered their attacking ranks with the additions of Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson.

Even the signing of Jeff Hendrick should help Newcastle add goals from midfield and it feels like they will need to score twice if they are to come away with three points on Sunday.

Brighton look dangerous going forward and it would take a very big defensive effort indeed for Newcastle to record back-to-back clean sheets in the league.

This should be an entertaining one.
