Kontaveit has been something of a surprise package at this year’s Australian Open and will be delighted with her performances in the competition to date.
She faces her toughest task yet but the way she blitzed Bencic in the round of 32 set out a warning to her rivals that she will be very hard to beat. She has only dropped two sets in four matches and while Halep is yet to drop one she faces a very tough task here and we can see it going to three sets.
The reigning Wimbledon Champion will find it tough to break down Kontaveit but she should ultimately progress in a close encounter.

This is a fascinating match up with 2 in form players set to do battle. Both have taken out some notable names in this year’s competition with Pavlyuchenkova beating number two seed Karolina Pliskova while Muguruza has beaten both Kiki Bertens and Elena Svitolina.
With little or no pressure on Pavlyuchenkova this rates a great opportunity to get to the semi-final. She looks a solid bet at 6/4.

A cracking Quarter final between two players best known for their love of clay.
The pair have met on 13 occasions and Nadal currently leads the H2H 9-4. The pair have only met on Hard Court once at the 2018 US Open where Nadal won in a thriller that went to a final set.
The quality of both players means we are in for a treat with this match up and the over 4.5 sets @ 9/4 looks a great bet. Thiem is coming off the back of a great result having beat Monfils in straight sets while Nadal came through against Kyrgios in four sets on Monday morning.
