Paddy Power stop accepting bets on royal baby being a boy

Paddy Power have stopped taking bets on the royal baby being male following a four-figure bet this morning.

Priced at 10/11 as of Sunday evening, the odds were cut to 4/6 before a hefty lump sum was wagered on the gender.

As a result, we now make Arthur the favourite to be the moniker of choice at 5/1. Before the cash was placed this morning, Alice was the favourite at 6/1.

Asked about the new royal infant spokesman Paddy Power said: “We’ve seen a really chunky bet on Will and Kate’s third baby being a boy this morning, so we’ve been forced to stop accepting bets as we think someone must be in the know.

“And while we make Arthur the new favourite baby name, I’m still holding out hope that it will be called Paddy.”
