Women’s 200m Freestyle – Katie Ledecky to win Gold
American swimming legend Katie Ledecky once again will do battle with Ariarne Titmus in the final of the 200m Freestyle. Titmus will be looking to do the double over Ledecky after her success earlier in the week and become a two-time Olympic Gold champion.
Whilst these two are expected to battle it out for the top of the podium, the final boasts a strong field including current World Record holder Federica Pellegrini and Siobhan Haughney, who qualified fastest in the heats. Ledecky will be determined history does not repeat itself on Wednesday in her bid to retain her Olympic Gold she won back in Rio.
Men’s Rugby 7s – Great Britain to win Gold
Just four teams remain in the Men’s Rugby 7s, including current Olympic champions Fiji and silver medallists from Rio, Team GB. Standing in the way of Great Britain going one better than Rio is their semi-final opponents New Zealand, and the winners of Fiji and Argentina.
Having mounted a monumental second-half comeback in their quarter-final vs. the USA, confidence in the camp will be sky high in their quest for Olympic Gold, and they seem a good price to win Gold.
Men’s Quadruple Sculls – Italy to win Gold
The Netherlands are down as favourites for this one and the current World Champions will be looking to become Olympic Champions in Tokyo. Runners up in those World Championships, Poland, managed the quickest time in the heats and could be rediscovering their 2019 form.
From the competing teams though, it’s Italy who will mount the stiffest competition.
Having beat them a few months ago to the 2021 European Championship, they will be gunning for Gold yet again. In Simone Venier, they have a veteran competing in his fifth Olympic Games and will no doubt need to tap into all of his experience if they are to reach the summit.
