Americans are having their Christmas dinner a month early which can only mean one thing – three NFL games on Thursday evening.

Thanksgiving – a wonderful concept. In reality, it’s just another excuse to eat an overrated piece of meat and see the people who tell you that you’ve put on a bit of weight every single year.
It’s also one of the American traditions that doesn’t really travel. However, sometimes we do succumb to their ways and I’m grateful for Thanksgiving triple headers on a Thursday for starters. That stuff is what dreams are made of – and if I can pull in a Sunday roast midweek, then you’ve got my buy-in sorted.
So, Buffalo and Detroit? My head says Buffalo, my heart says Detroit and my stomach says half five is as fine a time as any to drink gravy from the jug.
Handicap: Detroit (+9.5)
Remember that Buffalo are on the road on a Thursday after being on the road on a Sunday – all while avoiding crazy weather at home. This is no normal week for them, it must be said. And given their two-loss slump raised some alarms, that one-score win over gutless Cleveland hardly goes a long way to calming anyone’s nerves.
Allen’s arm seems to be fine but that’s largely because he hasn’t shied away from making his marquee throws. It’s not advisable though, and don’t be shocked to see him struggle mid-game.
And with a team with as many potent weapons as Detroit, giving them near-double-digit points seems too good to be true.

This could be the first half total.
These two teams know no different than going for the jugular. Even their running backs are more proficient in the passing game than as pure runners – something nobody believed could ever be the case for Devin Singletary.
Detroit know they need to be better defensively, but given their struggles, their offensive playcalling has been more focused on the home run ball to try and ensure they don’t fall too far behind early doors.

Brock Wright to Score Anytime
One of the reasons teams we’re in love with TJ Hockenson is how prominent he was in the reads of both Matt Stafford and more recently Jared Goff.
Detroit are designed to run a spread offence which often results in tight-ends running out routes and seams – getting into space where they can dominate one-on-one situations.
Wright isn’t at that level but remains a viable target in the red zone – even though his targets haven’t reached that level yet. Expect him to be more involved here as he becomes more familiar with his role in this offence.
Stefon Diggs – Over 90.5 Receiving Yards
Diggs is the league’s best receiver not named Justin Jefferson and there’s a suggestion that the only cornerback that can cover him in the league is his brother.
Regardless of that theory, one certainty remains – Detroit’s defence has improved against the pass, but that’s largely down to the impressive play of one Jeff Okudah. He’s just been ruled out.
