NFL Tips: Panthers can take down Eagles in 6/1 Sunday treble

Week 5 of the NFL is here and we've a few savvy picks for you

The NFL rolls on in week 5 and we now have six teams with perfect records. The Bills, Steelers, Chiefs and Seahawks will all look to maintain their winning streaks, while the Packers are on a bye week and the Titans could be again – or worse – if their players continue to test positive for Covid 19.

At the other end of the scale, the Jets, Texans, Giants and Falcons are all winless and they all face crucial games with jobs on the line. The Houston Texans have already reacted to their bad start by firing head coach Bill O’Brien, as he paid the price for their poor start, there will be several other head coaches feeling the heat as we head into week 5.

There’s a fascinating slate of games in the early kick-off slot on Sunday, and our NFL trader Dan Edwards has given us a treble for the early games.

6pm Sunday treble – Panthers to win, Steelers -7, Chiefs -13

“The first leg of the treble is the Panthers to win against the Falcons. Carolina have looked pretty good in the last few weeks, especially last week against the Cardinals. Teddy Bridgewater has been playing very well and they don’t really look to be missing Christian McCaffrey too much, surprisingly. We all know the issues the Falcons are having, so I like the Panthers here.”

“For the second leg I am going with the Steelers -7 against the Eagles. I think the Steelers will be fresh after an enforced bye week, they looked very good before that and they will have too much for Philly.”

“For the final leg, I’d like the Chiefs -13 against the Raiders. It’s a lot of points to give up but I think Mahomes will be looking to bounce back after being somewhat contained by the Patriots last week and the Chiefs can cover.”

Every week our NFL traders will pinpoint a same game multi for the late Sky game. This week sees the Indianapolis Colts take on the Cleveland Browns.

Same game multi – Browns to win, total points under & Beckham anytime TD scorer

“For this one I have gone for the Browns to win, under 46.5 total points and Odell Beckham Jnr to score a touchdown at any time. TThe Browns are good value here as home underdogs, and while the Colts have the best D in the league, they’ve had a weak schedule so far.”

“The Browns offence looked very strong against the Cowboys last week and although Nick Chubb is missing they should still have enough to win.”

“However, it should be a low scoring game. The Colts have gone under in five of their last seven games, so I think it will happen again here.”

“OBJ had a great game last week, he’s finally looking like the player the Browns thought they were getting when they traded with the Giants, and I think he can score again this weekend.”

Monday night football – Saints -8.5 & Kamara first TD scorer

“This is a big handicap line, but I think the Saints have enough to cover the Chargers here. New Orleans have been hit-and-miss with their 2-2 record, but Drew Brees has looked better the last two games, while Alvin Kamara looks like the best running back in the NFL this season. I’d fancy him to score the first TD here.”
