14:00 – Alnilam

Hexham winner Dollar Collar (second choice) has plenty of scope for further progress, while Ayr winner Ozzy Cosmo probably still has potential too. However, this looks good for ALNILAM, who cruised to a 2m course win in February and didn’t run as badly as his eventual 40l defeat might suggest in a warm Grade 2 here last month.

14:30 – Both Barrels (NAP)

This can go to BOTH BARRELS (nap), who ran well in defeat on his handicap debut at Ayr in February and should still have more to offer. Woodie Flash, Gypsey’s Secret and Lahardaun were all last-time-out winners but the main threat to the selection may come from Artic Mann, who runs this track well and has been admirably consistent this season.

15:00 – Indian Louis

A red-hot Largy Train will no doubt give this another good go from the front but INDIAN LOUIS can jump better than when close up last time at Ayr and he gets the nod for Lucinda Russell. Everyday Champagne, with the tongue-tie removed, may also have a say.

15:30 – Your Own Story

Prince Des Fichaux is in career-best form and has to go well, but last season’s Scottish National sixth YOUR OWN STORY arrives here fresh and on the back of an encouraging reappearance. No Risk Des Flos remains unexposed as a stayer and is preferred of the others.

16:00 – Kilta

Eire Street launched his handicap career with two emphatic wins in February and cannot be opposed with any confidence. But slight preference is for KILTA, who also still has significant potential. Eloi Du Puy, Forged Well and Harper Valley all ran well when filling the first three positions in a C&D race last month, while Singapore Trip also deserves a mention

16:30 – Lexie’s Moon

Last year’s win in this race is not the only time Atlantic Dancer has gone well here and she’s a major player along with Spit Spot, while Chosen Hero is well-treated on the best of her form. However, LEXIE’S MOON held her own against higher-rated opposition when penalised at Kempton and she’s of strong interest with Brian Hughes booked for her handicap debut.

17:00 – Soldier Of Rock

The most obvious answer is SOLDIER OF ROCK, who delivered on promise shown in Ireland when winning easily by a wide margin on last month’s British point debut. Red Opium has been knocking on the door in recent points and may fare best of the others. Connections of Watch Law have won this race twice in recent years, so he also gets a place on the shortlist.

17:35 – Kapal Layar

The ones with experience have not shown a huge amount but there are a couple of interesting newcomers. Top of the list is KAPAL LAYAR, who has an attractive pedigree and represents a stable that does very well in bumpers. Stuart Crawford’s runner Inoue also makes significant appeal and is feared most. Red Cadillac may fare best of the others.
