15.45 – Object (each-way)

Jordan Electrics is in the form of his life at the moment, but will need a career best off his new mark to defy his awkward draw and a safer each-way bet could come in the form of the Tim Easterby runner, OBJECT, from stall five. He has been taking on some better class rivals of late and with Brandon Wilkie taking 7lbs off his back, a mark of 70 should be well within his talent range.

16.15 – Spiritual Pursuit

From a family Michael Bell knows well, this extended seven looks a suitable starting point for his Beveragino, SPIRITUAL PURSUIT. Modern Verse has a nice mix of speed and stamina in his bloodlines, but this is a race to watch the early morning markets for help and I am hoping to see some support for the Archie Watson trained newcomer.

    16.45 – World Without Love

Most of these are thoroughly exposed bunch of staying handicappers and back on fast ground I think that the Charlie Johnston trained WORLD WITHOUT LOVE has a good chance of reversing recent Hamilton form with Geremia. That race came on good to soft and although the selection handles that surface okay, this quicker ground plays to his strengths as it does for all-weather winner Blow Your Horn.

    17.15 – Northcliff

NORTHCLIFF has been set some pretty stiff tasks by his handler in the past few months and looked set to get off the mark at the 11th time of asking at Catterick last time out, but may just have bumped into an above average performer. The son of Dandy Man should prove a tough nut to crack here on this much stiffer track and probably has the likes of Dream For Gold and Another Bear to beat.

    17.45 – Casilli

Sophiesticate looks nicely weighted for the shrewd Jim Goldie, but I just wonder whether she requires a bit more juice in the ground to show her best form and preference is for the course and distance winner CASILLI who has form figures at the track of 114311215. This mark is probably as high as she wants to be in the handicap, but an extended mile was a shade on the sharp side last time out and she can up her game here over this intermediate trip.

    18.15 – Austrian Theory

Maywake has shown on his last two outings that the assessor has finally given him a realistic chance of winning in line with his talent. Along with Manogordo (possibly wants a more forgiving surface) he looks a major player against my pick, AUSTRIAN THEORY. Set to carry top weight (just a small penalty) after a game success at Epsom last week, this track will favour his front running tactics and the quicker the ground the better for the four-year-old.

    18.45 – Fulfilled

The Charlie Johnston pair Fairmac and Dubai Leader are both more than capable of winning a race of this nature, while A La Francaise is certainly worth a second look off bottom weight. In a tricky finale though I really like the look of the David Simcock trained gelding FULFILLED as he steps up to a mile and a half for the first time. He looked in need of every yard when just getting up at Ripon last time out over 10 furlongs and should improve again for the extra yardage here.
