13:50 York – Persian Dreamer

ITV Friday gets under way here with a Listed fillies’ stakes for 2yo over 5f. I’ll be very surprised if PERSIAN DREAMER gets beat here for Kevin Stott and Dominic French Davis. The New market winner is the apple of her trainer’s eye and was well fancied when scoring on debut. I suspect there is much more to come.

14:05 Newbury – First Officer (each way)

ITV also show one race from Newbury Friday in this handicap over 1m2f. FIRST OFFICER is out of form for Jane Chapple-Hyam and Robert Tart but he’s a well handicapped horse and might bounce back here from a fair draw. A mark of 83 is very fair and he was a reasonable fourth at Doncaster two runs ago off 86. Rain would help but I’ll still have a few quid each way if it stays dry.

14.25 York – Queen For You

Another Listed prize in the Michael Seely Memorial Fillies’ Stakes over 1m for 3yo. Plenty of useful sorts on show here and none more so than QUEEN FOR YOU who blew me away first time out at Ascot when hacking up. The Normandie Stud offspring should improve plenty for the effort and this step up in trip will be right up her street. Beautifully bred by Kingman out of a Dansili mare. A half-sister to the talented Glorious Journey. Robert Havlin rides for John & Thady Gosden.

15:00 York – Aramaic (each way)

A handicap over an extended 1m2f. A wide open event. Nobel could be chucked in, but I’ll have a few quid eachway on ARAMAIC for William Haggas and Tom Marquand. My hope has been off the track since Newbury in 2021 but if ready could be well in as he has been dropped 2lb for a fair fourth that day after a fine victory at this track. Obviously a risk but one worth taking.

15:35 York – Eldar Eldarov

A Group 2 here in the Yorkshire Cup over 1m6f. If there is a future star in the field it has to be ELDAR ELDAROV for David Egan and Roger Varian. The son of Dubai flopped when last seen at Ascot over two miles in October, but prior to that he was a fine winner of the Group 1 St Leger at Doncaster and the way he won that suggested there was a big future ahead in staying events.

16:10 York – New Business

A novice stakes over 1m. NEW BUSINESS was behind Kathab on debut but there was a big word on track he was something special and it’s interesting connections try again against the old rival. Andrew Balding trains the son of Sea the Stars with Oisin Murphy once again on top and I expect an improved run.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
