14:05 Salisbury – Juniper Berries
14:25 York – Stay Alert (each way)
15:00 York – Croupier (each way)

13:50 York – Clarendon House (each way)

Clarendon House is a big powerhouse of a sprinter who should finally be growing and strengthening into his frame this season. He has missed a couple of engagements due to the softer ground conditions and now he gets to stretch his legs over a very quick 5 furlongs under decent conditions. He’s been ready to run for a while so fitness should be no problem.

14:05 Salisbury – Juniper Berries

Juniper Berries looked really good when winning very easily 27 days ago at Bath where not really extended and she was clearly the best by some distance. This looks an ideal stepping stone towards the Royal meeting and later on in the campaign. She has been allotted a very light weight for a possible big payday in the Weatherbys Super Sprint.

    14:25 York – Stay Alert (each way)

    Stay Alert has it to do on official ratings, but hopefully the dead eight runners go to post and she can run a huge race at each way odds. She could even get the whole pie as the likely favourite Free Wind is not guaranteed to be fully effective back down over this distance, having won as far as a 1m6f. It’s a positive that Oisin Murphy gets the call.

    15:00 York – Croupier (each way)

    Croupier’s a low mileage four-year-old who quite clearly got stuck in the mud at Doncaster 47 days ago in the Lincoln handicap. He has a handy inside stall position and can get a perfect draft into the contest from there. Paddy is offering good value with the early prices, especially with William Buick booked.

      15:35 York – Passenger

      Passenger didn’t look anywhere near ready from a fitness perspective when winning on his course debut at headquarters. He hit the line really strongly after momentarily hitting a flat spot at the top of the hill. Stepping up in trip looks ideal and an explosive display here could see him shorten dramatically for the Derby which he does need to be supplemented for.

      16:10 York – Changeofmind

      Changeofmind managed to carry a very big weight on his return for an easy success at Catterick and trainer Declan Carroll immediately pointed to this race as the route they were going. He’s going to have a fitness edge on the majority of the runners in the lineup and, added to that, this handler doesn’t over race them or throw them in the deep end just for the day out.
