16:50 – Masqool

Given that the front two pulled 10l clear, the handicapper might have been generous in raising MASQOOL only 3lb for his success at Southwell last time, so he’s taken to follow up. Agapanther looks next best ahead of Sicilian Vito in a race where few arrive with compelling claims.

17:25 – Zodiac Star

We Could Be Heroes sets the standard having been a good second over 7f at Salisbury in July on his second start, but ZODIAC STAR finished well for fourth in that same race on his debut and today’s step up in distance looks a firm plus. There is every chance this longer trip will also suit We Could Be Heroes but the main threat could come from the William Haggas-trained Attaj, who was a promising second at Newmarket a fortnight ago. The Gosden-trained newcomer Quantum Cat has to be respected.

18:00 – Hello Me

She would ideally have shown more at Chelmsford last week but in a trappy event it may pay to give another chance to HELLO ME. Joseph Parr’s filly is 2-2 over C&D, drops in grade and is on a very dangerous mark on even this season’s best. Cherish and Soi Dao can go well once more but the biggest threat may come from Amber Dew if she gets it right at the stalls.

18:30 – Monsieur Fantaisie

Having been a promising second at Catterick last month on his first outing for Archie Watson, MONSIEUR FANTAISIE is taken to go one better. Three-time C&D winner winner Nacho could be the chief danger, while Scott Dixon’s pair Coast and Valentine Blues can be involved if backing up their last-time-out course wins.

19:00 – Red Walls

Three-time C&D winner RED WALLS went close at Lingfield in August when back on AW and is the selection ahead of Peggoty, for whom the drop back in trip and grade are possible positives. Glamorous Force and Privilege are other players, while Miss Shirley is likely to be a big price but it’s interesting that she ran well on her sole previous visit to Wolverhampton.

19:30 – Sonnerie Power (NAP)

Old Port (second choice) and Desert Emperor have very good course records and can be expected to go well back here but they may struggle to live with unexposed 3yo SONNERIE POWER (nap). The selection shot clear on his Lingfield handicap debut last month and the second boosted the form when scoring at Windsor this week.

20:00 – White Wolf

This looks a very good opportunity for the promising WHITE WOLF to make it 2-3 on his return from a break (has been gelded). Kempton debut fifth Into The Spotlight (second choice) is open to improvement and could be the one for the forecast spot.

20:30 – Captain Howse

The most likely answer is the 3yo CAPTAIN HOWSE, a C&D winner who then pushed an admirably consistent mare close at Chelmsford. Easy Equation is struggling to get the job done but he makes each-way appeal.
