14:50 Chester – Celtic Champion (On The Nose, Expert Eye)
CELTIC CHAMPION delivered on earlier promise when justifying favouritism in 12-runner Salisbury novice last month. Moves up in trip for today’s nursery debut and ought to have more to offer.
15:25 Chester – Call My Bluff (Racing Post, Lambourn)
CALL MY BLUFF has run well both starts at this track, including over 2m2f when third in the Chester Cup consolation race in May. May have gone off too hard at the Galway festival on penultimate start but back to form at Newmarket last Saturday. He’s steered clear of fast ground these days.
15:30 Market Rasen – De Barley Basket (Luke Tucker)
DE BARLEY BASKET is a front-runner who took his chasing record to 5-9 with a dominant display at Uttoxeter 17 days ago. 9lb rise asks more of him but essentially still progressive and might prove up to it. Has a C&D win to his name.
15:48 Ripon – Justanotherbottle (Sheffield Star, Fortunatus)
JUTANOTHERBOTTLE’s last three wins have come over C&D, including this race last year off a 5lb lower mark. Defied this mark here in June and he has faced some tough assignments since. No surprise at all to see him return to his best today.
