OJ LIFESTYLE caused a massive upset when getting off the mark in a maiden at Newbury last time, returning an SP of 125/1 but showing a willing attitude to get the verdict by a nose. There didn’t appear to be any fluke about that performance and there could be even more to come from him after just two starts. A strong colt, he certainly looks the part and this is a good opportunity for him to make it two from three before stepping up in grade.

14:35 – Rose Prick
ROSE PRICK showed improved form to make a winning nursery debut at Newbury two weeks ago, clearly relishing the step up to seven furlongs. The official winning margin was just a length, but she was arguably value for extra after meeting plenty of trouble, impressing most with the way she picked up once seeing daylight. She is clearly a filly going the right way and a 6-lb rise in the weights is unlikely to be enough to stop her in her follow-up bid.

15:10 – Inver Park
INVER PARK has thrived since joining the George Boughey yard and he completed a hat-trick when winning the Buckingham Palace Stakes over this course and distance at Royal Ascot. His winning run came to an end in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last time, but he shaped as if still in top form, keeping on well from a poor position to pass the post only four and a half lengths behind the winner. He can line up from the same mark today and should go well again under conditions which clearly play to his strengths.
15:45 – First Ruler
FIRST RULER looked a smart prospect when making a successful handicap debut at this course in July, sticking to his task well to land the spoils by a neck. It was a particularly good effort when you consider that the runner-up enjoyed the run of the race and the way First Ruler shaped there suggests the step up to a mile and a half today could eke out a bit more improvement. He is only 3-lb higher in the weights and very much a horse to keep on the right side for the Charlie Appleby yard.
16:20 – Crystal Caprice
CRYSTAL CAPRICE made a mockery of her opening mark when impressively winning a handicap at Goodwood last time, showing a smart turn of foot in the final furlong to win by a length and a half with a bit in hand. This will be tougher from a 6-lb higher mark, but it’s highly unlikely that we’ve seen the best of her yet after just four starts. She is certainly in the right hands to go on improving and it will be no surprise if she is capable of making an impact in pattern company before the season is out.
16:55 – Willem Twee
WILLEM TWEE once again created an excellent impression when completing his hat-trick at Kempton last month, hitting the front inside the final furlong and quickly drawing clear from there to land the spoils by two and three-quarter lengths. He is clearly better than your average handicapper and his entry in the Champions Sprint shows the regard in which he is held. With further progress on the cards, he is fancied to defy another 11-lb hike in the weights to make it four wins in a row.

17:30 – Many A Star
MANY A STAR has proved better than on his last two starts, first gaining a narrow victory at Goodwood in July and then running at least as well in defeat when filling the runner-up spot over the same course and distance on Sunday. He was beaten just half a length on the last occasion, looking the likeliest winner for a long way before being pegged back close home. He can line up from the same mark today and has plenty in his favour back at the scene of previous win in May.
