13:10 – Sassy Belle

There are some interesting newcomers in this maiden, but SASSY BELLE sets a good standard on the form she has achieved in both of her starts to date, and is expected to open her account now. She bumped into a useful sort on debut over course and distance and was only narrowly denied by another good prospect at Windsor last time. There should be more to come now and that should be enough. Mystic Pearl ought to build on her first run and should figure prominently for last year’s winning yard, while Purple Lord stands out among the debutantes.

13:40 – Uffington

UFFINGTON showed ability on her first three starts but has progressed further since sent handicapping the last twice, appearing the relish the step up to seven furlongs when runner-up again at Kempton last time. She was beaten only by one who was making their handicap debut and the pair pulled a little clear of the remainder, so the looks solid enough form, and Uffington can deservedly open her account now. Zara’s Return should give it another good go, with Little Edi a likely improver over this increased emphasis on stamina.

14:15 – Bell Shot

BELL SHOT confirmed the promise of his reappearance when recording a second career success over course and distance in June, seen to good effect given how the race was won but always looking like holding on. He ran just as well in defeat back at six furlongs at Windsor last time, proving he is still on a good mark, and he is expected to be well suited by this step back up in trip. Next Chapter is open to more improvement now venturing into handicaps, while Atomise ought to give another good account, too.

14:50 – Rebel Territory

Having acquitted himself well in a top Glorious Goodwood handicap three weeks ago, REBEL TERRITORY makes plenty of appeal off the same mark here with Frankie Dettori now in the hot-seat. He race a little too freely on that occasion and is entitled to take another step forward on just his third start of the season. The hat-trick seeking Auditor promises to be suited by this step up to a mile and should be in the mix, but a bigger threat may be posed by Atrium, who was seemingly undone by the steady gallop at Ascot last time.

15:20 – Wagga Wagga

WAGGA WAGGA bumped into one well ahead of their mark on his handicap debut at Salisbury but bolted up on his next start at Pontefract even though he raced keenly throughout. He made the most of a good opportunity when following up under a penalty (was 5 lb well in) over further at this course last time, again not settling fully but once more strong at the finish. Wagga Wagga is clearly thriving at present and his pedigree is an ongoing recommendation. Jalea Moon, another comfortable last-time- out winner, is taken to pose the biggest threat.

15:50 – Frantastic

FRANTASTIC never got the chance to fully open up at Sandown last time and, in what should be a more straightforward scenario, he remains with the potential to defy a mark of 87 now up against some lesser opposition. Youthful King has been in good order and is worthy of respect, while Guilin is certainly not one to be writing off.
