17:10 – Aberama Gold

Surprisingly for this multiple winner, ABERAMA GOLD is having his first try over the long sprint distance of 7 furlongs. Judged on his recent efforts, it’s within his compass. He knows all about winning around this venue and the draw in stall 11 is not as much of a hindrance over this distance. Ryan Sexton takes off a valuable 5lb and he looks weighted to go well and is in good form.

17:40 – Reversion

Off the back of a very good effort at Sandown last time, REVERSION will now have added focus as the visor goes on to aid his concentration. He had previously been woefully outpaced at this venue but that was over 5f and all of his runs this season have suggested his time is near. The 7f distance is ideal.

18:10 – Sunningdale

He was thrown in at the deep end after his Windsor debut, tackling the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot. SUNNINGDALE didn’t run badly in the circumstances last time at Newbury, despite being a bit keen which also limited his finishing kick. A return to 7f will suit and he’s also been given a little bit of time to get over those early exertions. He is well drawn in stall one and could easily slide along towards the front end and be tough to catch off an opening handicap mark of just 79.

18:40 – Zenga

Stepped up in distance, ZENGA made no mistake at Wolverhampton last time easing down in the closing stages for an easy five-length success. Taking another slight step up and distance should squeeze a little bit more improvement from her and she looks worthy of carrying top weight in this handicap. The Roger Varian team are operating at a near 20 per cent strike rate at the moment.

19:10 – Group One Power

His overall profile is just three victories from 17 races however when you switch that to the all-weather, GROUP ONE POWER boasts a 50 per cent strike rate of two wins from four starts. Back on his favoured surface and dropping down to what looks his ideal distance of 1m 2f, he can take advantage of his revised handicap mark of just 81. An inside position in stall one over this trip is perfect.

19:40 – Purple Ribbon

The trainer Charlie Fellowes has been very patient with the well-bred daughter of Gleneagles as we haven’t seen her for 289 days. However, she already boasts an impressive profile, stepping up in distance to 1m 4f looks absolutely ideal and should bring about a good chunk of improvement. PURPLE RIBBON is related to some triple digit runners, so 90 doesn’t look like her ceiling rating.

20:10 – Country Pyle

She seemed to appreciate the step up to 1m 6f when winning her maiden at Goodwood on her seventh start, really hitting the line strongly. It suggests that a further step up in trip now to two miles is going to see COUNTRY PYLE improve again. She should have no problem switching onto the all-weather for the first time and her spectacularly successful half-brother Pyledriver, has a good record under these conditions too.
