16:25 – Eagle Eyed Freddie

Most of these have plenty to prove but Mick Appleby’s 4yo EAGLE EYED FREDDIE turned things around after wind surgery with an all-the-way win at Southwell last week and he may well be able to dominate again on this switch to Polytrack. Aiguillette went close over C&D on his penultimate run and is a big danger if he can recapture that form. The other one the shortlist is Royal Heart, who was won twice over 7f on Polytrack this year and is still unexposed at this trip.

17:05 – Winforglory

King Lewlew ran well on his stable debut at Bath this month and he won’t be 80-1 today but this still looks good for WINFORGLORY. Richard Hughes’ Irish import found plenty for pressure at Yarmouth 17 days ago and should be up to defying a penalty in a race lacking depth.

17:40 – Zebra Star

Dovena will find this easier than the races she has contested at Epsom and Newmarket and ought to make a bold bid but the pair to appeal most are Bonnsie and ZEBRA STAR. The former shaped very well on her previous AW start and may have been unsuited by the track at Epsom last time but Zebra Star appeals as the type to carry on progressing with experience.

18:15 – G’Daay (NAP)

Several have possibilities but the most striking contender is G’DAAY (nap), who raised his form to a new level with his C&D win last month and was only narrowly denied off today’s mark at Chelmsford last time. The main threat could come from Clive Cox’s lightly raced 3yo Dark Swansong, though Blue Flame has run well over 7f on Polytrack in his last two starts and he’s respected. Others who could be dangerous are Light Lily and Mr Tyrrell.

18:45 – Come On Girl

This is a tight call between Real Estate and COME ON GIRL who both ended lengthy losing runs with 6f Polytrack wins last time. The former forged clear in a classified event at Chelmsford but the vote goes to Mick Appleby’s mare, who landed a gamble off a reduced mark over C&D last week. Big Impact returned to action with a close third here 17 days ago and has claims if he can back that up, while others who could be in the mix Big Time Maybe and Harbour Storm.

19:15 – Laurentia

This looks tricky but it might be worth siding with Dean Ivory’s C&D winner LAURENTIA, who finished well to snatch second off a reduced mark at Chelmsford last time and looks interesting on this step back up in trip. No Such Luck did best of the closers when a good third in a similar race here last time and he’s feared most, ahead of Midgetonamission who has finished close up in her last two starts. Others to consider are Accrington Stanley and Too Shy Shy.

19:45 – Cafe Sydney

An open race in which the vote goes to CAFE SYDNEY, who has a record of 4-9 at this track and still looks feasibly treated off 3lb higher than for her win at Bath last time. Coconut Bay (second choice) is a big danger if she can build on her handicap debut third over 1m here three weeks ago, though recent Salisbury winner Ciao Adios is also respected along with another 3yo in Richard P Smith.

20:15 – Greenscape

Citizen General might be vulnerable on the back of a 5lb rise and preference is for the fillies GREENSCAPE, Kinrarra (second choice) and Queen Of Change. The selection should raise her game off this sort of mark now raised in trip, a suspicion supported by her pedigree.
