Engles Rock needs a strong pace and luck in running but she’s more than capable of winning off this mark and she’s greatly respected. Velma, Tyche, Broctune Red and Balqaa can’t be ruled out but SMART CONNECTION may be the answer. He failed in his hat-trick bid at Lingfield 13 days ago but it was still a very good run and a 2lb rise might not be enough to deny him.

Desert Lime starts out for her new yard on a competitive mark and she should make a bold bid for the hat-trick. Katheefa might go well at a price, while Oriental Lilly shouldn’t be ruled out and Mostallim is unexposed at 6f. MERRY SECRET finished just behind Ginato here nine days ago but that was his first outing for 112 days and he shaped very nicely. He can reverse the placings today.
19:00 – Fly To Glory
A few potential improvers on show, notably Ribtide and Friendly Vegan, while Doctor Khan Junior and Saxon Village are newcomers of some interest. The money that came for FLY TO GLORY on his debut here two weeks ago, when taking on a couple with proven ability, suggests his win was no surprise and he can overcome his penalty and maintain an unbeaten record.

Another competitive sprint. Amasova, Porfin and Tanasoq all come into the reckoning but BLACKCURRENT (nap) showed a willing attitude to win here two weeks ago and for a 5f sprint this doesn’t look overloaded with early dash. A 2lb rise may underestimate what he achieved last time.
20:00 – Serenading
Samara Star has plenty to prove dropping back markedly in trip and Rising Star and SERENADING can fight this out. James Fanshawe’s mare is still improving at the age of six and she can gain her fourth course success.

20:30 – Dogged
Saison’s D’Or had little chance the way things panned out here on his reappearance and he’s a danger to all, especially having been dropped 2lb for his troubles. Kaahira is open to improvement now handicapping but DOGGED may be the answer on this drop into 0-70 company. He was ultimately very disappointing for his previous yard but he has plenty of ability and his excellent new trainer has already shown she can sweeten up horses from elsewhere.
