13:00 Outsmart

Given this is not the strongest of line-ups, the only previous winner Taj Alola has to be respected under his penalty. However, his debut success was achieved over 7f and he was beaten at this trip last time so the temptation is to look elsewhere and the best option may be OUTSMART, who shaped really well when second over 7f on the AW on debut and is bred to be suited by this longer trip. Jubilee Road and Agilulf look the best of the rest.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:30 Victoria Grove

Quite a competitive fillies’ novice in which Different Look is an interesting newcomer and is certainly worth checking in the betting. Autumn Angel, Candy Kitchen, Grey Belle and, in particular, Noonie, are worthy of consideration but VICTORIA GROVE was a good fourth against some decent rivals on her debut and can be forgiven her lapse in a Group 3 last time.

14:05 Stonific

Not many of these arrive here in top form. Socially Shady was a decent third over C&D two starts ago and has claims if the ground dries up but a narrow vote goes to top weight STONIFIC, who has been in good heart this summer and looked a little unlucky at Pontefract last time. Justified looks likely to run his usual honest race, while Steel An Icon is not ruled out despite stamina doubts.

14:40 Summer Sands

A wide-open sprint handicap. If the ground starts to get quick, then high numbers could hold sway and it is with that in mind that the vote goes to SUMMER SANDS, who failed to shine when sent to Ireland but is very fairly handicapped for this first run since returning to Richard Fahey. Rathbone, who is drawn in the centre, ran a fine race last time and may give him most to do, while it would be no surprise to see a big run from Woven.

15:15 Cassy O

Having run as well as ever off this career-high mark over 1m nine days ago, dual C&D winner CASSY O (nap) looks sure to give another bold show before going up another 3lb. The dangers are headed by the unexposed Mossbawn, Glengarry and Admirality.

15:50 Ron O

Good support for Shielded, who started short prices for his three runs on the AW last winter and has since been gelded, would look significant. Otherwise, RON O, who’s better off with old rivals Empirestateofmind and Soller Bay, is tipped to break his duck in a first-time visor.

16:20 Alex Gracie

A good few are hard to fancy and several others have inexperienced jockeys up in a race that’s unlikely to be affected by the draw. Lord P is the obvious starting point, having won easily back from wind surgery early in the month for Fern O’Brien, but a chance is taken on ALEX GRACIE, who made all down the centre of the course last September and who has last season’s winning jockey up.
