Denise Foster’s filly has dropped to a mark that makes her very interesting in this evening’s 1m 2f handicap. The ground is now soft at Ballinrobe and if you go back through the six-year-old’s form, she finished second, off a mark of 78, to Insignia Of Rank.
She was giving him weight back then last October and Insignia of Rank is now rated 101, having won at the Curragh in May and also ran third at Cork earlier this month.
Merited runs off 69 tonight, ran ran a respectable race last time and in a small field, should be bang there at the finish.

Finished a close second at Roscommon two weeks ago (Bercasa behind that day) on her first Flat race in seven months.
If she can take a step forward from that – which she should as it was only her second run over either code in seven months – she looks more than capable of least upholding the form with one of the market leaders, Bercasa, on her favoured soft ground.
