Here we go! Yeah, that’s right it’s time for the third Classic of the season as Epsom stages the Oaks.
Paddy Power’s odds for the fillies-only contest suggests it’s a two-horse race between home hopeful Soul Sister, who showed an impressive turn of foot when landing the Musidora Stakes, and Irish challenger Savethelastdance, who breezed well clear of her rivals in the Chester Oaks.
The fantastic field of 11 also includes John & Thady Golden’s second string, Running Lion, and Godolphin hopeful Eternal Hope.
Just five runners go to post for the other Group 1 on the card, the Coronation Cup, as previous Derby thirds Westover and Hurricane Lane tackle last year’s Oaks second Emily Upjohn as well as Point Lonsdale for Ballydoyle and Tunnes, who flies the flag for Germany.
If that wasn’t enough, there is also Listed action courtesy of the Nyetimber Surrey Stakes as 1000 Guineas seventh Olivia Maralda drops down in trip to seven furlongs.
