Ascot 13:55 – Dreamloper

ITV coverage on Saturday starts at Ascot with a handicap over 1m. DREAMLOPER hasn’t run with juice in the ground before but being by Lope de Vega, it’s not impossible she will cope with it alright. She’s not done much wrong in six starts for Ed Walker and has Tom Marquand on top. Her last run at Haydock was decent enough and suggested this trip is better than 7f.

New to Paddy Power?

Lingfield 14:15 – Technique

I’ll be at Lingfield for ITV and this is the Listed Oaks Trial Fillies’ Stakes over nearly 1m4f. I will have a go with TECHNIQUE for Martyn Meade and Sean Levey. The daughter of Mastercraftsman was a good winner at Wolverhampton first time but bettered that when chasing home Wirko in the Derby Trial at Epsom. Wirko didn’t do much for the form at Chester this week but Uncle Bryn, who was third, is held in high regard and Technique looks as though she will relish this distance.

Ascot 14:30 – Without A Fight

This is now a listed event over 1m4f. The lightly raced WITHOUT A FIGHT might be the one for the Crisfords and Andrea Atzeni. The son of Teofilo has only raced six times but has never been out of the first three and was a fine second to talented Al Aasy when last seen at Newbury in the John Porter. This trip is ideal although he will go further and everything is set for a bold show.

Lingfield 14:50 – Adayar

Now the Derby Trial which is also a Listed event over nearly 1m4f. ADAYAR is going to relish this distance and I really liked the look of him after his second at Sandown to Alenquer. Trained by Charlie Appleby for Godolphin and ridden by William Buick, Adayar looked promising when winning at Nottingham second time and the Sandown effort strongly suggested a staying trip with juice in the ground would be ideal. He’s beautifully bred and could be useful.

Haydock 15:10 – Celestial Force

ITV show one jump race from Haydock in the Swinton Handicap Hurdle over nearly 2m. CELESTIAL FORCE should have place claims at least here for Bryony Frost and Paul Nicholls. The six-year-old has run well in both runs this year at Newton Abbot and Sandown, finishing fifth on the latter track behind Herbiers. With just 10st 1lb on his back he’s going to feel let loose here and the champion trainer remains in great form.

Lingfield 15:25 – Bounce The Blues

Up to Group 3 company here with a fillies’ contest over 7f. BOUNCE THE BLUES has improved in each of her last three runs, with fine efforts at Doncaster, Newmarket and back at Doncaster last time. I suspect she just needed that seasonal debut behind Top Rank in listed company and she should be in the mix here for Oisin Murphy.

Ascot 15:40 – Jumaira Bay

Big betting heat here with the Victoria Cup Handicap over 7f. Some real Ascot specialists are in this one but the one I like has never been to the track before in a light career and that’s JUMAIRA BAY for Roger Varian and Ray Dawson. He has only won once in ten starts, but the bigger the field the better he seems to do and this kind of heat might suit him down to the ground. Speaking of that, he can go on any surface but a bit of juice will be ideal. Off 8st 3lb, he should have each-way claims.

Lingfield 16:00 – Turn On The Charm

Finally a handicap for apprentices over an extended 7f. Pathetic turn out here and I’ll hope that TURN ON THE CHARM is good enough for James Fanshawe and William Buick. The gelding takes a slight drop in trip but he should be able to cope with it and probably has more to offer than the others under William Buick. Eton College should provide the pace to run at.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas! You hear me Paddy?
